I was not able to clear Prelims in 2015. The result of CSE prelims was announced on October 12, last date to apply for RBI Grade 'B' exam was October 23 and the phase I exam was scheduled on November 21.
As @truthteller has already said 'if life gives you lemons, make lemonade out of it'. Had I cleared prelims 2015 I would have surely flunked RBI exam and as my optional wasn't that well prepared I was sure to flunk mains 2015 too. So not clearing Prelims 2015 was my lemons and I was lucky to make lemonade out of it.
Clearing UPSC exam is a long haul process and it's important that we have a secured backup. There is still plenty of time left for RBI Grade 'B' exam and if I can do it, I am pretty sure most of you are capable of doing the same.
Buddy I'm also in the same situation and have applied for RBI grade B exam but don't know how to proceed considering the fact that there is less than a month left for exam. If you could please share your strategy for covering syllabus for ph-1 & especially for phase 2 incl ESI and F&M paper as I have heard that questions are less conceptual and more factual & current based and also how to go about current affairs for this exam. Thanks
I have penned down, in detail, my strategy for RBI Grade 'B' exam on quora. My optional was statistics in RBI exam. Now there is no concept of optional, everyone has to write with Finance & Management subject. For ESI, your prelims knowledge is sufficient just brush up on economic survey.
