FC Based Service/Cadre Allocation Proposal of PMO

There was a proposal by PMO for Service/Cadre Allocation based on Marks obtained in FC. After the lateral entry decision of DoPT, nobody seems to be talking about FC based allocation proposal. There were both Positives and Negatives of the Proposal, but a reformed and transparent FC with less marks weightage (presently 600), could have reduced some of the uncertainties that some of us have faced regularly, in successive attempts in UPSC. The UPSC will still remain the apex body as it will still decide the candidates' entry into the FC and their marks, and a more reformed FC can actually help the deserving candidate getting the desired service. In any case the Armed Forces have been doing the same, and the proposal has a lot of merit IMO.

Certainly FC is very good and it gives officers, time to groom themselves for their Govt Duty. Just that the misconception about FC being biased against a particular set of people (in case of FC based service/cadre allocation proposal), can be removed by making the whole process more transparent and clear.
