@oragne_black please do quickly forumias factly available online to make a base of current national/global circumstances (12 months at the very least) . You should be able to do this by the end of june itself. Now, continue with one daily newspaper ( any 1). In july end, try vision ias monthly compilation for the month and do that one booklet as well - you may continue with vision now on. (This should give to peace of mind that you have done what 95% of the other competition is doing and would cover almost all of the mains current affairs/issues)
If you are in habit of making notes, please do make them from the newspaper you read daily. Try to extract examples, case studies once you have given enough time to the exercise, this will become natural after a few months.
As is with other things, limit your sources and revise your notes/booklets. Committee reports etc are overkill and do not have much Return on investment. If you notice, most toppers do these in their subsequent attempts when they have a command over other portions and basically need something new to read.
thanks, for the detail outline. Will you advise any mains test series(specially forumias)? Should my initial months be focused on the Optional? Do share your strategy for the whole year(like a rough outline) if possible. I have asked many questions in one go, sry for that. Thanks, in advance.

Mains test series is a must if you are writing 2018, but for 2019-it is a personal choice completely. if you want to, you may join Forum's (not for the practise tests but for the continuous guidance of a mentor that you will have, Course correction at appropriate moments is what is most essential I assume and sitting down with a mentor may do the trick)
2. Optional is the kingmaker. try to excel at it. allocate time accordingly.
3. for 2019, make a deadline like when you would like to finish optional, ethics, society, world history etc. ideally finish optional/mains by dec 2018. keep last 100 days for prelims completely. and while you are doing Mains Prep, solve 50-60 PYQ of prelims side by side of the same topic(half hour minimum daily).
4. Also, Do not fill any other form/exams if this is your first/second attempt.
