Scored 135 in paper 2, 98 in paper 1 ... Mera paper 1 achha Gaya tha aur paper 2 bohot kharab. My issue in paper 1 was that I wrote the same thinkers in almost all my answers (phenomenology, socio is science, Verstappen) lots of overlapping in these few questions. But if you look at individual answers then they seemed fine to me Is it possible that examiner got annoyed because of similar points in all these answers? Also I read only mahapatra notes. This time I'm reading horolombus and Upendra notes for better coverage.. don't know if that will help... Feeling kinda lost. Anyone has a strategy please?
I got 140 in paper 1 and 141 in paper 2. However, I was expecting more marks in paper 1 (which went well ) than in paper 2.
Yes, reapeating same points and thinkers will annoy the examiner. Little bit different thinkers can be quoted in phenomenology, socio as science and verstehen.
Yes, I will say don't go for many notes. If you have done Mahapartra sir notes, that well n good.
Read Harlomboss and IGNOU notes (especially thinker part for clear understanding) in addition to above.
For paper 2, again Mahapartra sir notes to be combined with IGNOU notes.
I focused not much on diversification but only notes of single teacher plus few topic from various sources....made notes on thinkers to quote and few studies...added current affairs n data related to various topics...revised extensively..finally test series is must according to me....I hope it will help..
Can you elaborate a bit more on the notes used, i am noob thinking of changing optional to sociology. Also if you could maybe do a detailed writeup whenever you are free regarding it would be extremely useful for people like me

Thanks bro... That's what I'll do then. I'll cover horolombus and ignou. Which is a good test series for paper 1? That would actually judge my answers authentically to let me know of issues in my writing style?

Thanks bro. I'll add these things in my notes. Which test series did you find good? I don't live in Delhi, so do you think I should shift to Delhi to join test series of mahapatra or Upendra? (Since they don't provide online) or should I go for vision? My focus is paper 1 due to bad performance.
Congrats to all those who have scored exceptionally well on the sociology papers. Could you all pls provide some detailed writeups/blogs for someone new to sociology to understand and better prepare this optional.

Mahapatra notes doesnt give dictation. Are you talking about his pre 2009 spiral notes of 5 volumes? Which he give at end of classes?

Vision was only option for me, as now I am not in Delhi. I found that their test series was good and model answers are also up to the mark.

He gives dictation also, although not for all the topics. I attended his class and have pre 2009 notes, but never went through it.
