Hello.. I am regular follower of ForumIAS .. as the process ended for 2017 (so its fresh experience can help more), I thought this thread will help to newbies plus those in the preparation as well.. If this thread is worth it after reading this , then one request to mods make it announcement .. if it doesnt then share the links or from where we can get those addressed..
We do listen to toppers in speeches & also read their transcripts .. but there r reading between the lines & some hidden warnings (like those written during advertisements in some corner of tv) .. & everyone doesn’t get the right HELPING HAND while preparation, so such aspirants rely on forumias or other such online forums to get those resolved.. I wil put down some doubts/queries which will make u understand what exactly we need in this thread (other things if u guys can add after reading) ->
1. From the selected n experienced ones.. plz share things or tips to aspirants .. for prelims, mains or interviews.. what to do, what not, what silly mistakes to avoid, how u did managed stress etc etc (once selected, some create larger than life image or hype abt exam process in speeches transcripts) 2. So here anyone can share informally as well.. because here no need of being formal like speech or transcript.. here plz share like u r talking to ur room mate or friend .. as a well wisher.. (I have seen such comments in some threads but not under one.. so created this single one.. so if u have u can copy paste them here as well) 3.What factors helped u to conquer mistakes u did before, what changes u made n succeeded, what is trend of exam year by year.. what upsc is expecting from us nowadays, etc 4. In this digital age & so many classes.. whom to believe, wht to avoid & wht not to miss. Is turning into a mess.. (from my journey i can recall my mistakes & recovering from them).. So what worked for u.. no need of publicity of any but genuine things abt the resources, classes or test series reviews n else.. 5. Apart from studies, what is needed, what helps to sustain in this upsc ecosystem & how to tackle failures , backups, etc etc
So they r just few thoughts i guess which touches broadly each aspect where we need HELPING HAND .. u can add or remove or alter the things & share whatever u can.. genuinely.. because this journey teaches u many things.. log ate hain, judte hain, har type k log hote hain.. har type ki advice milti hain .. then jaise jaise exam ka experience ata hain .. tb reality check milta hain.. So to minimize such things in this process ..
I hope u guys r getting what i wanted to convey & i am requesting to mods if u can guide us for this after going thru this & ask some who wishes to do this.. & also other silent readers .. if u can help in this .. its not abt one stage of exam so it wont hurt ur prelims studies .. it wil keep everybody on track & specially it wil help to those who r preparing from home & with no guide or less contacts..
