UPSC REFORMS - CSAT affected students, J&K relaxation, Reduced Vacancies and other issues.

Three eminent Members of Parliament - D. Raja, Oscar Fernandez, Tiruchi Siva addressed a press conference on issue of compensatory attempt to CSAT affected students, J&K relaxation. We can also bring to Parliamentarians notice regarding reduction of vacancies despite shortage of officers(Jitendra Singh himself replied) in the resumed Budget session. These issues should be taken together, otherwise exam will just be a game of pure luck.

Here's the link of press conference.

  • Awesome...

Decrease in number of seats is very imp issue
  • some drastic reforms needed in upsc cse. atleast 50% weightage to objective questions in mains, interview maximum 10% weightage are the real reforms that are needed . rest all is humbug.

Exactly. If there are only 750+32(PH) vacancies, chances of qualifying each stage is purely luck. Need support of all aspirants to raise this issue in Parliament. If MPs make this an issue in Budget session, because it is election year, Government might budge under pressure and anl addendum on increased vacancies/final intake increase could happen. Request everyone to support this. Also please discuss this among your other friends and sacrifice 'one' day for turning out to protest if necessary.

    +1
But again it needs to be disassociated with other issues like compensatory attempts and J&K relaxation etc etc, otherwise it will be lost in the long list of our grievances
  • Hello, thanks for the efforts. Requesting people to appeal for candidates who appeared during 2011-2015. I have pointed this earlier, that people spent a lot of time studying for CSAT till about May 2015 (when the announcement of CSAT being only qualifying, was made) at the cost of optional and GS.
Last minute changes impacted candidates who appeared in 2015, especially those who appeared for the first+last time, owing to policy changes in 2014.
So requesting humbly to keep the period 2011-2015, so that many candidates can benefit.
    Thank you guys.
