Its normal to feel like this.......nothing strange. Do one thing, have a good sleep tonight....dnt be stressed out. Wake up early tomorrow morning, take out any book of your choice, be it laxmikant, spectrum, shankar, singhania or any other book and read it, read good amount of chapters without thinking something else or worrying. You WILL feel good when you would be done with that and will study more. Dont think, Just do. UPSC CSE gives you the luxury to read diverse things, when you dont feel like studying any particular subject, you could choose to study another topic for short time and then back to your schedule again. ALL the very best.
True that. To add to this:
- Set short but achievable targets, don't go for the kill. - Talk to the ones who motivate you, friends, parents, etc - Watch motivational videos, especially of past years toppers. Or insightsonindia motivation section - Solve Pre tests frequent. Target improving your score in successive tests.
Periodically through the preparation, we lose momentum, it's normal. Hobby, jogging, yoga, meditation, few games of badminton (in Sindhi park) - do take such breaks (but do not prolong them).
Best wishes! And yeah, JUST DO IT.
I agree to what u've suggested but i do believe that motivation comes from within , i absolutely hate any kind of motivational videos.... moreover, i dont even know whats wrong with me .... thans 4 d suggeation though...
I gave first attempt last year , couldnt clear prelims... i've started preparing for prelims from january onwards... I am not at all stressed out or depressed but i dnt know y m just unable to study ... lately i've started feeling so empty , dont feel like going out of my room or taking to my friends ... usually when i feel sad i cry it off but this tym m unable to cry as well .... i really dnt understand y i feel dis way .... its a bit strange ....
I feel that it can hard to study if we are not pushed by some external factor and don't have a well defined plan in place.
So I would suggest you to purchase a nice prelims test series (either insights or vision) and follow their syllabus and schedule to the t. The key word is purchasing one instead of downloading one since that will increase accountability
When you start feeling responsible towards not wanting to waste the money you spent, you will automatically start giving the tests on time and be compelled to compete with the rankers who are giving it their all every week in these test series. At least this is what worked for in 2017 which was was my first attempt (I'm preparing for the interview now).
