Foreign 2yrs study leave.....reality or just on papers..

Everybody know ki IAS/IPS are premited to take 2 years foreign study leave..but.......
Is it easy to get that leave or just mentioned in govt.papers.
Already in Services people may give insights...

  • Its not tough but what i have been told that one needs to put in 5-6 yrs of work beforehad
    Study leave are easy if u get admitted to some world renown university

    Ask your batch mates. ....as you are already in service..you have greater access to practical realities
    I know 4 ias officers who went on study leave
    Recently hyderabad city collector went on study leave
    Need to put some years of service to avail that privilege
  • Yes possible...after 8years of service. for NE officers 6 years...many officers are chevening scholars from LSE. Many have secured admissions in harvard kennedy school for MPA. Many IA&as officers have left service and joined un organizations. Mostly Group A officers never return after study.

    But they have to sign. a bond that after study they have to come back and serve the country......then how they get settled in foreign.....

    Not is services.......read somewhere ki option toh hai....but u know......ki though it's allowed in documents but u can't get it.....like in army even if u try u can't availe the full holidays that are mentioned.......so asked..

    all india services study leave regulations...people actually go depending on whether ur cadre relieves u for the same..for some course in the interest of PUBLIC..not random XYZ course..
