If any please comment....are you expecting any changes in exam pattern of IFOS......like removing of 2 optionals etc.or it is safe form this CSE scrutiny...
Please stop asking the same query over and over again. Even if they make a major change, you still have to study for atleast one optional/english/essay paper whatever. You will read and hear a thousand idiotic rumors and hearsay from people here, and other places you visit. Learn to be a filter feeder, because time is of essence. You just wasted 5 days having your anxiety fed by trolls. Last year very close to prelims, a bunch of people started a rumor that they heard from xyz coaching that optionals are going to be chopped. Do you know the funniest part? This happens every year, people are perverse.
No I or for the few IFS heavy folks here, do not expect ANY change for the next year. If by some weird chance they do make a change, it will either be adding csat scores/separating prelims/or adding more optionals to allow natural science and management folks in/or make it a single optional like it was back in the 80s. This is a science heavy specialized field, it will be like asking Economic services to open up their exams to non-econ/statistics folks or engg services to non engineers.
Fine lets just say they take out one or both optionals. You are still stuck having to study for prelims and csat. That knowledge you earned studying your optional is not worthless, it will stay with you. T
Mine or anyone else's optional is NOT going to make any difference to your chances. You will be the one writing the exam.
All I am trying to say is time is finite, bakar is infinite. Log out, pick up a csat book and solve a few problems, it will calm your mind.
I will stop rambling. If you make more posts asking this again, I will make it a personal point to delete them.

No. It is perfectly fine to ask questions till you get your answer. That is the spirit of inquiry and the reason why forumias is still free.
My point was that you are letting future uncertainties dictate your current situation. I do understand you are suffering from crippling anxiety and that in turn is preventing you from moving forward with your prep. But why worry about something that not even UPSC's core committee has declared formally?
I make it a point to be sharp with IFS interested folks because we have to deal with a higher cutoff, any single day wasted worrying over rumors counts against us. Even if you clear the prelims and get to the mains, the cutoffs are much higher than their CSM counterparts. This whole game is already stacked against us, add the toppers and folks on top of their game as competitors on top of that.
I sincerely hope you find some faith in yourself and gain the strength to brush off rumors.
