  • As promised during the talk today at forumias here is the strategy for two optionals -

Botany (Vidushi - AIR1) - Lookout for evolution classroom notes and stick to those. No one book that could/should be followed

Agriculture engineering (Shanmukh - AIR29 and other toppers)- There are 3 books which should be followed for numericals in both papers - Principles of agricultural engineering by Michael volumes 1&2; Elements of agricultural engineering by Dr Jagadishwar Sahay . Practice all numericals from these books. Moreover byheart all relevant formula.

There's a whatsapp group which has previous year toppers as members which you can join if you need more help with this optional - https://chat.whatsapp.com/HlayqKQylNGLZg2mlcDJjC

Also for agri engineering here's repository of revision notes - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B25lONR5HAQsSTRhT09fWU0ybUk

Haha, I always suspected you were the one :-)

  • Sir Can you tell us sources for Forestry ? Thank you
Manikanandan and Prabhu+Rishav sir's notes should suffice IMHO. And Internet search for any topics that are left out

Sir, Which one will you suggest among the following, for forestry?

Attempting from section B for both papers [ very general] or Section A [Technical+Objective] ?

    How did you attempt?

Prefer Section B unless you can cram section A. I preferred section B
  • @kabira Not an IFoS query. But could you suggest what would be the right time to join mains test series?
What would be a good way to go about answer writing practice?

    Thanks

I think right time is either now - you have 2.5 months till February to devote full time to test series for mains. Or after prelims next year.

Answer writing - if you have some idea about how to structure then, then give full length mock in 3 hours. That's the best way I believe.
