ANNOUNCEMENT : Prelims 2019 Select Focus Group (SFG) Commencement Date, Entrance Test and Other Details

Botany or Agriculture

hi everyone..I am a bit confused between botany and agriculture..though i have read biology a bit ..I didn't graduate from either botany or agriculture..so now while choosing I am confused since though agriculture seems easy to understand and interesting, it's syllabus is vast compared to botany. Botany paper I seems a bit tough but otherwise paper II seems like a subset of paper II of agriculture. any advise ?

    Take botany
If u take agriculture u will have to compete with people who studied agriculture for 4-5 years. ur answers willn't fetch marks in paper 2
Botany candidates are fewer and moreover people won't have natural edge
  • How is botany regarding marks awarded in cse mains?

2014 se koi select nahi hua shayad
  • Botany is good for you brother. Agriculture has certain chapters that needs subject specialization. If you have some good friends having Agriculture optional, then it is a must go otherwise not.

Thinking of opting for Botany as an optional in both CSM and Ifos. Gave mains with psychology this year but somewhere the subject lacks objectivity and more so when questions are becoming general. I guess Botany with its certain objectivity will be a safer bet. I also want to prepare for IFos this time.

Is Evolution IAS the best option available for guidance? @Soumya2211 @Maddeadpool ?
