    I don't know where i implied that i think its a nice book :P.
Actually in Chronicle Upsc planner they gave the name of this book and also in few university courses i found DM dutta's book mentioned , so that's why asked.

Have you read B k lal ? That hindi one, is it good ??
and thanks, all the best to you too !

    P.s i haven't read Bk lal too

  • @knight : Actually I never ever bound myself to only the English language stuffs and books. My Hindi is as good as my English . My translation ability is also fine . I just want to gain the knowledge , whether it is in Hindi or in English, that does not make any sense to me. And yes, I would like to say to all the folks with philosophy as their optional, that for Contemporary Western Philosophy , if they can read , they should study it from Basant Kumar Lal.

Nahi to coaching notes to hai hi na yar. Patanjali ya Mitra zindabad.........

Humara answer kasia ho, Patanjali ya Mitra ke notes jaisa ho......

What do you think about paper 2 ?
how should one go about it ?
I think socio political needs concepts and Current affairs ,
For religion i have heard of Masih and hick.
    I havent started P2 yet.

@knight : I think , if one is very well prepared, he/she can score more marks in Paper 2 , as compare to Paper 1.
But the million dollar question is , how ?
Look, as I mentioned in my previous comments, I have always been an fervent reader of philosophy books , whether it is in syllabus or not or whether it is Hindi or in English , does not matter to me. For Socio Political, I have many books in Hindi, I am also reading this portion from sociology and pol sc books. Many journals I have subscribed. I have also been reading Osho since class 11th, so religious philosophy is not at all a problem for me. Besides many books I have in that subject matter also( in English and Hindi both).

by god, class 11th se (nervous laugh)..
Actually because of your extensive reading portfolio i asked about how to go about P2, can you please distill down some book(s) for preparing Paper 2 marvelously , like 1 or two or more for each part( socio-political and religious) . :) ;)
It might be too much to ask but any help is deeply appreciated.
