are you plus 25 in age ?
Turned 24 a couple of weeks ago. Why are you so curious about my age?
Interview board? Air Marshall screwed me.
Vinay Mittal Board. I was expecting 190+ coz PK Joshi Board had given me 184 last year despite a couple of blunders. ( I missed the final list by 11 marks though then ). I've been very fortunate to have had decent boards on both occasions.
Yeah, I have seen a lot of people complain about his marking. I had gone through your interview transcript in April itself and I feel that a below average mark seems highly unjustified. Hope you take it in your stride and come out with all guns blazing this year. You deserve much better considering the amount of help that you provide the other aspirants with unlike silent observers like yours truly. Good luck!
Well, you're my inspiration now! I find it difficult to pick up books and read the same stuff. And the thought of going through the same ordeal of prelims and mains and interview does not feel scary, just plain tiring. How did you do it last time? Several friends from VM have scored 170+. To think that I might've made it with that score!
I studied around nine hours everyday for a year and a half till December 2015 but I couldn't make it into the list, courtesy pathetic scores in GS2 and Essay, both of which, I thought, were my forte. This year I could manage only 2-3 hours of study (including reading the newspaper) daily and somehow made it. One can call it Divine Providence.
I didn't read much for Prelims last year mainly because I couldn't stand reading any of those books anymore, but I did religiously solve 40+ question papers of Insightsonindia and VisionIAS, and learnt a lot from the answer keys provided. (I also took solace in the fact that I was scoring pretty decently in the papers. Ego boost. :P ) You scored quite well in your prelims last year which means that you know your basics well enough. Just make sure that you're up to speed with current affairs and revise the basics once again. If you're not able to read those books again, make sure you solve insightsonindia's question papers on History, Geography, etc. They frame questions by directly lifting stuff from the NCERTs (at least that's what they did last year, haven't seen their papers this year), so it's akin to reading those horrible books again without actually having to flip those pages. I've cleared 3 prelims quite comfortably but I'm hoping that the prelims don't fail me this time around coz I am thoroughly unprepared. Anyhow, let's see.
* I could manage only 2-3 hours daily not because I was employed or anything (I was quite jobless), it's just that I couldn't put in those hours anymore due to sheer exhaustion and disinterest.

You know what! I'm actually doing all insights tests at present. Reached Test 10. Planning on doing them and forum full tests for the entire next week. Will go through the same old books + PT365 in the last week. I've been scoring good in the mocks, so confident of making it. But let's see, it's going to be a bloodbath this time.
Kabhi milna, bhai. Aapki personality shaandar hai, humko thoda guide kar dena interview ke liye. Do you stay @ ORN?

I stayed at ORN for a year and a half. I couldn't take it anymore so I moved back home, which is down south. Waaay down south. A place where the summers are much more tolerable and where the monsoon hits in the first week of June. And yeah, we'll meet someday, once we've weathered the imminent storm.
