3rd attempt,1st mains, didn't clear. I am in a dielemma to join the mgp or not.. as i being jobless i would have to borrow from parents and asking for coaching and test series again and again makes me feel ashamed of myself. If MGP is worth every penny i would consider asking them for last help. Seniors please help
Studies have found that committing to an activity in the way like " to do on X time on X day at X location". - is indeed one of the most effective ways at overcoming procrastination. #randombook
What Our friend @Karz is talking is what I have genuinely experienced after giving two MGPs and a mains back to back. Indeed there was some internalization as compared to time and money I gave. And I think I may have been far ahead if I had if "could" have invested in better things. It totally depends upon how I would have wielded the sword and for how long when in a lonely fight.
Coming to your mentioned issue of back to back pay. Better suggestion is find newer ways to better yourself, there has to be internalization indeed!! All the best.
Hello @April2015 , Could you please tell me, what were the average marks obtained by successful candidates in MGP?
I was going through this thread and my inbox bombardment.. and it is none of my business.. but just few things.. talking out of sheer logic..
1) mgp is just a test series,, where they have some guidance available.. so those who have guidance issues will benefit from it. 2) don't think of it as ki isko join kiya toh 100% selection.. that is not the case.. and I hope that you are not stupid to think like that .. there are 4 gs papers, 1 essay, 2 optionals and 7 papers of luck. 3) right now yes theyhave high selection rate because they have just started.. so it will grow in next 1-2 years and give good performance.. later it will be same as everywhere else.. 4) this time, yes I can say that many of my friends jinka interview nahi aaya tha unka aa gaya... kaafi aise log bhi hain.. jinhone padhai bhi nahi kari thi... sirf mgp lagaya tha..or mains marathon dekh rahe the.. optional me bhi mgp ke rules laga diye .. that way..and got through.. so yes writing style matters and that they have figured out and keep repeating.. sometimes they will cut your answer, if u don't follow their method.. 5) if u are not planning to join anywhere, don't join mgp either.. but agar vision ya gs score soch rahe ho... then join mgp because the guidance is much better..compared to available anywhere else..
I am writing this because people are thinking that program join karne se selection ho jayega.. aisa nahi hota hai.. u write test.. u listen to what they say..and implement it..you will see the difference in your first test and fourth test
see, many of my friends joined vision also,, but they don't see any improvement there.. yahan pe improvement ho jaati hai.. if u follow what they say..will share some of my copies if I get through this time.. in my case they used to call me also when I didn't use to write tests.. I was like sorry sorry I will write and submit.. that is because I don't think more than 100 people were there in online..
bahot baar humein pata hi nahi hota ho hum kya galat kar rahe hain.. who cheez wo bata dete hain.. bas itna hi hai..
and they are experienced mentors.. toh agar first time hai toh ekdum pata chal jayega ki kya galat kar rahe ho.. jisme usually 2-3 attempt waste ho jaate hain.. mere college ke kaafi juniors ne join kiya hai is baar..
now I am confused .. forum MGP or vision or ias score ..
can anyone help? fees is almost same ..
Join forum's. I and my close friends (both of whom who also cleared mains) have experienced all three. An added point is that you can get your grievances addressed right here.
thanks @DrKingSchultz .. wil call n ask few things.. its better to join now ? of after prelims??
can anyone provide the contact no for MGP. I have joined MGP+ SCHEDULE B and have paid the fee but the course has not been added yet to my account, kindly help.
Hi I am also planning to join test series for mains and I did my research and came to following conclusion - Basically there is a threshold beyond which all test series are good. What's the threshold - the quality of questions should match upsc level it should not be random questions as it will do more harm and waste time. Once you have joined test series above the threshold it's your commitment that matters, giving timely test, applying the feedback etc. So which test series are above the threshold - I have found vision and forum questions in sync with upsc so it's a personal choice to join any of the two.
