Ethics classnotes and material- Synergy or Vajiram? Which one is better?

edited September 2013 in Miscellaneous
Dear friends, I want to purchase materials of GS paper 4. Materials of both institutes are now available in market. If any one has gone through the classes or materials, please guide me in choosing the better one among vajiram and synergy. Thanks!

  • i want to know too... anybody has any idea?
  • no idea of Vajiram .. but mohanty sir's notes are very exhaustive and good
  • Hi Dear,

Neither Vaji nor Synergy is upto the mark in my view. My roommate has experienced the one and I the other. But as far as I have seen, Sriram is doing excellent job. Their notes are quite nice and u will feel the thrill after reading them. But the best part is the classes of ALS. I have taken them and notes though not that good but you will be mastered in the standard terminology that they use in Ethics Paper. Hats off to Jojo.
Apart from that what I think is that no formal preparation is required. We need to do the syllabus in a broader frame and be thorough in ARC Reports.

I must quote B.K. Ahluwalia here, "Ethics and humanity go hand in hand, day in and day out." Since you can't learn humanity from classes or notes, in same way, Ethics is a feeling, a emotion, a drive and an attitude which can just be directed through basic guidance (i.e. books). Be ethical in your routine affairs, thats all your service wants and most importantly UPSC wants.

Thanks. You are right. I was looking for some conceptual clarity about various terms so thought to buy notes.
So according to you, for notes, sriram will be the best option.. is it?
  • I attended synergy classes n scored 110 in ethics . As far as the class is concerned , Mohanty sir is good especially for the case studies . It really helped me during the exam . But part one of paper I.e definition , or the theory part .. I don't think the notes covered it well . I ve heard good things from my batch mates about S.K mishra classes . He is in Rajendra nagar n starting in Mukherjee nagar also .

  • @mike_zulu

can you share notes or tips on ethics case study ? Plz.
  • Any reviews of ethics classes by S K MISHRA IAS(Chronicle ias now as IAS SCORE)..? does anyone have link for Rachit Raj AIR-3 strategy(ethics 142/250)
  • @mythbuster .. Yaar I don't have any online notes .. But plz download 2nd ARC report on ethics . For case studies .. Too much to say over here .. But just remember .. Always give a balanced n practical answer . Make sure ur actions have good values like not be corrupt or understanding ur juniors etc n of course be on the right side of law . All this seems clichéd but worked for me . If u can attend one these classes above , they ll explain u better n the techniques for solving case studies ..eg Mohanty sir always advocates deontology framework for solving case studies ..
  • I don't know abt mohannty sir's classes but his notes are a complete waste.. so is vajiram's.. better don't go for these two.. my suggestion..
