Pro Cons of Appearing in Other Exams (For People Appearing in Mains 2013)

I appeared for the RBI Grade B Exam.
I also have to appear for CSM 2013 in December.
Was it a good idea wherein I devoted more than 12 quality hours for the preparation of this of this exam in the past week.
I felt that it was a "cool" experience and it would help me in my CSM preparations, even if tangentially.
But my friend covered more syllabus for CSM in the past week solely because I meandered.

Now I am in two minds whether I should appear in any forthcoming exams, other than the CSM !!

  • Its always good to attempt all the exams that come in your way... I did so to make myself comfortable with the kind of Q asked in each exam... Have written almost some 10-12 exams in the last year... have cleared the
written part for 8exams including csm-12... Its just a practise to make yourself feel better on the d-day
  • @dileep1611 can you tell what exams you wrote ? So that i can keep some as a backup for csm..pleasee
  • hmm I have written ACIO, cds, afcat, AP state services exam(g1,g2), ibps clerical, ibps po(not qualified), sbi po(not qualified), industrial officer exam(state psc), ICET for mba in AP, LIC AAO
  • sorry for late reply I was not able to search this thread...
  • Nothing wrong. I've IFoS(mains), State Group1(mains), RBI-Assistant (Interview), SSC(Tier2) and CSE(mains) and gave RBI-GradeB prelims as well. Just prepare for CSE(Mains) and give others(Preparing Economy before RBI exam or preparing GS before State mains wont hurt your upsc mains I believe) :)
