At first blush I knew it was about gender. Learnt about this confusion only after the exam. Guess my socio background helped! Anyway, all's well that ends well!
Did anyone who wrote mains this tym as well as last tym noticed any difference in answer booklet space ?? I think this tym the sheet was broader than the last tym .

if it is---- If development is not en"gendered"---then "gender" comes into picture but normally engender has nothing to do with gender. I wrote with normal interpretation and mostly the theme and arguments are from amarthya sen. So wrote from deprivations and entitlements point of view by bringing in capitalism,socialism and neo-liberalism.

Using the word engender to refer to gender is very common when we talk aboit Development. Though the exact meaning of the word may not have any relation to gender but the phrase is very common.
