Bhai engg. subjects toh sahi nahi rahenge. Can go for Maths, Physics and Chemistry, if you like it. I love all three Else geology toh hai hi. But forum response shows bahut achhe se prepare karna padega.

Since you're from aerospace background, you may be familiar with basic thermodynamics and how engines work. So I suggest you to take Agricultural engg. It's a mix Civil engg and Mech engg. If Civin and Mech take at least a year, Agri engg should be doable in 4 months.
If UPSC had allowed 2 engg optionals then I would've grabbed Agri engg.
Forestry waise short hai. Think many times before not picking up Forestry. I don't think any other optional is doable in short time.

Bhai mere college m toh sab chemical wale rote rehte te. They had low pointers as well. I thought chemical to be very difficult and was pleased for not opting it.

bhai kaunse college se ho.. me from roorkee.. no problem at all.. mere toh 52 sth aa gye the.. topper 70 tha kuch.. ab 2-3 mahine padhta toh utne bhi aa jate.. mere batch k 17 m se 8 laundo ne diya tha.. 5 ki rank top50 m thi and all 8 under 100.. hahaa..
mujhe final year m stipend k liye gate dena tha and 30 marks chahiye the so took it as joke while gave it in prefinal year
