Today Mr Gupta will leave the office, whether it was because of him or not but we all can agree that the question paper level of prelims deteriorated significantly. In this years paper UPSC hit a new low. Even State Commissions are far better now.
But when he is gone, can we expect that the papers will be better and less factual ? Although Sirohi is only staying till January.
This change might have no effect at all. Just curious as I find the days of DP Agarwal as golden days of UPSC(you disagree) and the person as chairman should have a bearing on the papers.

It is not "just screening" it is "screening" ! Which carefully screens out all those people who can make some difference other than just rattafying bullshit.
What kind of logic is that where you presume that all the brains belong to elites and cities ?
Why you take democracy as a right where the papers will be set to suit the common man when the post in question is the most uncommon one and desires competent people ?
No Idea who has the greater bearing BJP Gov. or UPSC Chairman.
Who is going to replace Alka ma'm after January?
