Alka Sirohi is chairman now !! Will it affect the deteriorating level of question papers.

Today Mr Gupta will leave the office, whether it was because of him or not but we all can agree that the question paper level of prelims deteriorated significantly. In this years paper UPSC hit a new low. Even State Commissions are far better now.
But when he is gone, can we expect that the papers will be better and less factual ? Although Sirohi is only staying till January.
This change might have no effect at all. Just curious as I find the days of DP Agarwal as golden days of UPSC(you disagree) and the person as chairman should have a bearing on the papers.

  • Very true! the level of question papers from 2011-14 is what I expect from upcs.ts such a shame what upsc has reduced itself to.
  • D p aggarwal was a genius and unhone hawa nikal di thi logon ki by setting such conceptual papers.

    +1
  • Jab tak centre mein bjp hai , expect paper on similar lines no matter who the chairman is
  • What's the benefit of such a conceptual and tough paper to give advantage to coaching going students and elite one's when it Is just for screening...Govt now trying to provide a level playing field to all candidates...whether u r living in ORN or in a village in chattisgarh....the standard of mains paper is more or less same...coaching culture should be ended now and equality for all should be there in competitive exams...
  • Alka madam would retire before the next prelim paper is set :D
  • No major change expected...as she is probably retiring in January 2017..

I think these type of factual papers , u need to heavily rely on coaching material which was not at all true in 2011-14 period, even mrunal calls that time as backbreaking era for coaching walas. Since when did the conceptual clearity is property that belongs to coaching trained aspirants only and to "elites"?
It is not "just screening" it is "screening" ! Which carefully screens out all those people who can make some difference other than just rattafying bullshit.
What kind of logic is that where you presume that all the brains belong to elites and cities ?
Why you take democracy as a right where the papers will be set to suit the common man when the post in question is the most uncommon one and desires competent people ?
  • Character of an institution is reflected in its leader.
No Idea who has the greater bearing BJP Gov. or UPSC Chairman.

Who is going to replace Alka ma'm after January?
