Global Warming: Is it really happening?

This may sound stupid to some people but just wanted to know everyone's opinion.

I have this theory that developed countries started this global warming concept in order to slow down the industrialization in developing countries. :P May sound far fetched but worth thinking about.

Also, if the world is getting heated , cloud formation occurs faster due to excessive evaporation. Clouds may either be responsible for preventing the heat from escaping out of the earth or they may even be preventing heat from the sun from entering the earth. It still hasn't been found out , which of the 2 is greater.

Also, the Earth goes through natural cycles of heating and cooling . So even if global warming is happening and man is enhancing the effects , it can only be prolonged and not be stopped. So why not let nature take its own course. Isn't it natural for man to develop and improve technology ? Man started industrialization naturally!

  • Global Warming: Is it really happening?
    Maybe... #:-S
  • Bro. What more proof you needed, see for yourself how messed up wheather these days are, a few days back i read snowfall in brazil, also long winters in europe, glaciar melting etc etc by the way clouds has little role to play its the green house gases like co2 which causes the effect. It lets the heat enter into the earth but dont let them go. You must have heard about co2 reaching 400 ppm in the air, these things are really happening and needed immediate action. Developed nation has done enough harm to the atmos. And they want developing nation dont commit same mistake. Whats wrong with it? If they agree to provide green technologies i see no harm in switching to these tech, as we live in same world and harm to earth gonna effect all.

All the climate change agreements have put a much heavier burden on the industrialised nations to change their industrial and pollution policies than the developing nations. The developing nations don't have any binding commitments of emission reductions.

Industrialisation is free to occur in the developing world without any constraints for the time being, while it is the (majority of the) developed countries who have agreed to stop their no-holds-barred, 19th century-style, pollution-spewing industrialisation.

So if this whole thing is a conspiracy, then it is the Third World countries who are running this scam.

well, snowfall in brazil doesnt indicate warming does it? Climate change? Maybe ,but not particularly warming. Plus its natural for alternating cycles of heating and cooling to occur.
Developed nations are not really willing to provide the green technology. Could it be another ploy to exploit the developing ones? :-/ . My point was, since developed countries have already undergone industrialization and may want to monopolize it , thereby starting this fake theory of global warming
  • In fact there was once an american economist, if memory serves me right was working in the capacity of chief adviser to the president who suggested that the best way to combat all the effluents, waste etc of industries was to dump them in poorer African countries and paying them heavily for their services. The plan was supported by many scientists and logically it seemed the right thing to do but the next day of his proposal he was sacked :D

well, can we say that the plan backfired a litlle?:P Industrialization is not completely free to occur! Due to this global warming theory, environmentalists across most developing countries are acting as blockades . There are theories like R K Pachauri has been funded from abroad for the propaganda of global warming
  • 1. Climate doesn't change without any reason, its the effect if global warming, different effect at diffirent places.
    2. You are right about alternating cycles of heating and cooling but that happens in a span of thousands of years and in our cases its happening in span of just decades which is not natural.
    3. The global warming concerns all and even if they are not willing to provide green tech, india has potential to develop them.
    4. Natural phenomenas cant be any one countries monopoly and scientists world wide including indian scientists found that its happening.
    5. Eventually we have to switch to green technologies so why not now.
    6. India has special concerns as its a subcontinent and if sea level rises its gonna affect us very badly. Which is rising slowly slowly as prooved by many studies.

But even if you are right and this is a conspiracy than i have to admit its developed on grandest level. :p
  • The agreement on global warming and climate change is by far the most rewarding to the developing economies, as compared to many others.

There are voices for some time now from the developed economies that the emerging economies should cut back and the agreements and protocols should be revisited, to which all emerging countries have shown strong objection. With the shift in scenarios and the power that some of the emerging economies holds, especially China, it is unlikely that this is to change in the near future.
