Raghuram Rajan to quit as RBI Governor [Rage venting thread]

BKL MKL BC MC......damn it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F*CK

i am so angry right now.....these cheap BJP Kissass politicians....

i mean come on.......this is the lowest level of politics......to use hindi "2 Kaudi ke log"....BJP should be ashamed....
but i know they will not be.......
ARUN JAITLEY and ANUPAM KHER will spew their usual BS about "manufactured protest"

i am so ashamed of myself that a couple of years before i used to listen to what this SWAMY idiot had to say....
he had petitions in which he mentioned that SONIA GANDHI and RAHUL GANDHI are not indians and their real names are something else etc etc and a lot of other bullshit......
i had actually believed him.....

I am so angry that i cannot even put down what i am feeling in words.....

PS: i dont care if the mods shut down this thread or ban me.....but i just had to vent.....

Also if any MODI BHAKT dares to justify here be prepared to get your butt kicked no holds barred.......

  • Dont worry mate...

Its all for good... The country will know in next three years, why India is not moving upwards ... Cause in India, there is no appreciation of talent and hard work...

Only countries with values such as talent, hard work, rationality and logic have progressed. And those who are well educated try to bring that culture in our society. But it hardly works in India. The culture of India is not hard work or rationality but of power politics and self-aggrandisement in general. Everyone wants name, fame, money and power with lesser and lesser work.

That is why Germany and Japan who were completely destroyed in WW II and with very harsh conditions imposed on them and China which gained political stability in 1949 are now way ahead of us. Some compare India with China and say that it was cause China had a communist government, But Germany and Japan did not and still they with their limited resources are way ahead of us.

India is like a pot of crabs, if one good crab tries to move India ahead, the rest pull him back in the pot. We must keep trying and hope for the best. Sometimes one good effort is all it takes to change the world.

Dont worry, there are still many good people who will keep taking India forward even if the forward march of India is stopped for a few years.
  • बस यही बोलना चाहूँगा , रघुराम राजन साहेब आये और चले भी गए, लेकिन हम upsc की तैयारी करते रहे, सुब्बाराव जी के टाइम से हम लगे पड़े हैं ।
  • Sir governor has been treated like a mockingbird. :|

    U don't kill a mockingbird, u let it fly.

    A true gentleman retires :'(
  • Dhool jami thi chehre par aur hum darpan ponch diye..

Wo humko volatile currency aur high inflation se hatkar stability me jeena sikhaya!

He did his job well. I hope the institution he has left behind would be able to continue to do well once he is gone.
  • What is your point here dear ? You did rant against a political party but didn't give a cogent enough cause for your support for Rajan.
I hope you take my following statement with a friendly maturity. I think you want to say, "Look, I'm so cool and cosmopolitan, I can take stand on a niche gossip issue."

My take is that people (sub consciously) like Rajan for following reasons:
^ A flashy academic background - the classic Indian elite craving syndrome.
^^ A career at Chicago University - the bastion of neo-liberal thought. I'm sure India Inc. loves him for his neo-liberal ideology.
^^^ A slim physique and an attractive getup; smooth talking with a lot of American english thrown in; a carefully crafted suave demeanor. Hollywood has already conditioned educated Indian urban middle class for American smooth talk. Just look at all the taglines of profiles on ForumIAS !!
^^^^ A love for cardio. Oh yes, its the new fad in urban India - sweaty t-shirts. Eat shit and then burn that shit and come home with sweaty armpits!

Spoiler Alert: I'm not a Modi Bhakt or anybody's god-damn bhakt.

To be honest, I don't give a rat's ass if Rajan stays or goes. All he has done is continue the policies of his predecessors. Can you name one major policy shift which he brought about ? Kept Repo high, build foreign reserves, shield India from global turbulence - all done and dusted long ago since the times of YV Reddy. Listen to the very informative The Big Picture episode on this topic on RSTV and you'll get your answers.

I say kick out Rajan. RBI governor's post is just a line in his CV so that he may later fly high at IMF and World Bank. Remember Kaushik Basu ? I say, send Rajan back to his honky friends in Chicago. The reptile and mammal inside me (read evolution) wants a change, wants to see things demolished and loves entropy. I'm fed up of seeing that elite prick in his half-pants, running marathons and in squash courts. I don't go to marathons and I don't know squash. So, f**k him.

    F**k you.
  • Problem is with the unceremonious way in which he was treated by the govt.
  • All this support of Rajan is bullshit. His academic achievements deserve respect and that's that. He hasn't achieved anything extraordinary to rant up here like this. All this media-backed support is actually by guys who don't have much idea about monetary policies. Of course Rajan can't turn the world upside down as there should be continuity but again no need to go after the govt as after all he hasn't been dismissed. His term gets over and govt has every right to replace him. Regarding Swamy's tirade, every person has his opinion and he is no less desh bhakt than you and me and if he feels Rajan is not the ideal man he is entitled to his opinion just as you and me do. And you are also entitled to your opinion that govt is responsible for Rajan resignation. But you don't have rights to abuse people.

And boss if you want to thrash Modi bhakts, this is not a place as this is a civilised forum and you are ranting up at the wrong place. If you really want to try going after Modi bhakts there are different forums like FB where you can do but rest assured you will get 10 times more than what you say.
  • Rajan was better than many of his predecessors. His drive against the npa accumulated by the psb's directly hit the beneficiaries of crony capitalism. Also he didn't hesitate to speak his mind at times which may not have gone down well with the govt.
  • Problem is with the unceremonious way in which he was treated by the govt.
I don't understand this unceremonious way. Swamy who is not part of the govt criticized him. Jaitley said he doesn't approve personal attacks. Rajan says he doesn't want extension 3 months before his tenure ends. Now, where does the question of govt treatment comes here?
