QUOTA FOR EXTERNALLY VISIBLE PHYSICAL DISABILITY...what about those who have mental health issues!!!

External physical disabiliy fetches a quota in any exam and makes the life a bit easier.Exception would be a total vision loss candidate, who has to struggle immensely.

Btw what about those, who have internal disabilites. Eg:seizures and other mental health issues ,scizophrenia, palsy etc etc.

Isnt there a need to understand the issues of these guys. But how?

Ps:Moderators are requested to analyse the sensitivity of the issue and then take any decision.

  • aisa kar sakte hain ki past history of mental disability/trauma ko reservation de de...
lekin mental disability ko top job dena sahi nahi hoga
but history based reservation mein gadbadi ka bahut scope hai
  • john nash was a GENIUS (and eccentric) Mathematician

that cannot be equated with or positively correlated with a good administrative acumen.

pata chala yahan floods aa rahe hain aur DC sahab ko daura pada hai bc
pata chala rape ho gaya dalit ladki ka aur SP sahab sedatives leke soye hain kyunki woh mansik roop se ansantulit hain.

people with mental disorders cannot be trusted with power, firearms or authority.
atleast a person with locomotive disability can very effciently do his/her job in services like IRS IT,IAAS,IRAS

Please friend don't take this personally, I am just using your quote as an example so as to express what I think is wrong with the discourse in the nation today

You said rape of 'dalit' girl whereas rape of any person is an equal abomination. Yes I concede that dalit people often find it difficult to get justice but not every non-dalit has it going easy. What I want to say is that due to the current discourse in our society and moreover in media, there is an increasing tendency (subconciously) to give a caste undertone to every issue even when there is none..

PS: Sorry for digressing from the actual topic of the thread. Wanted to express what I felt......not to argue

Since you disgressed, you must pour some thought on d topic too. :p @sss_2503

John Nash is one of my go to inspirational idols. If I remember correctly, he himself admitted that he cut down his social ties and relied on minimal human contact for days. Such a person is not ideal as an administrator due to lack of emotional intelligence and lack of communication skills

But the govt can create special govt jobs such as teachers, counsellors for people who had had mental illness to motivate and teach others in their fight (See Syed Bashir-ud-Din Qadri v. Nazir Ahmed Shah....found the case while searching about PwD act). They can even be recruited in research institutes, think tanks etc.

As far as cerebral palsy is concerned it is already covered under PwD Act

  • https://imgur.com/UABwKjp I'm clinically depressed. On anti-depressants. I don't think any clinically depressed person can pass this exam, even if you provide him/her the reservation benefits. We feel disconnected. Intense hopeless. Getting through the day itself is a Herculean task. Swallowed by the dark.

Manin, for an inspiration you could read abt Dr. NELSON mandela.I know he had no mental health issues, yet he was in a situation ,which was too hard to overcome.Even he sometimes had the thought that there isnt any way out.
He took inspiration from the poem INVICTUS ,BY W.e.Henley. An english poet, who himself had lost one of his legs as a kid.

    Invictus is inspiring.

I had also posted abt Karoly Tackacks, the last month. He too is v.inspirational.
Karoly was in a situation which is even more difficult than yours. If not more, atleast comparable.
    Good luck.do reply.
