Hi Friends,
I am planning to join coaching institute in Delhi in June/July for IAS 2017.From the reviews I came across, a lot of people recommended Vajiram for GS in English Medium.
But I have a few concerns, the batch size being so large (400-500) will they be able to provide any guidance/mentorship outside of the 2-3 hour classes. Also, since the classes are spread across the entire week, how does one go about revising/grasping the material being taught. I called them up & they do not have a fixed test schedule till the time the course gets over. Wouldn't it be problematic to track your progress at the end,by which time it would be too late to make amends?
I`ve checked few threads on forumias which recommended opting for coaching only for optional since the GS paper is getting more current affairs-oriented every year. But since I was working in an IT company for the past 2 years, I haven`t studied in proper exam-mode since 2013.So,managing a good study schedule at home without any guidance would be really difficult.
Requirements from coaching:
- Helpful teachers
- Good study environment
- Small/manageable batches in class(not more than 100 students)
- Regular tests at least once in a fortnight/month/after module completion
- A day off in the week ( I know,this is asking for too much but after all the gruelling study sessions, will need some respite

)
Are VisionIAS/Unique Shiksha/Samkalp coaching institutes any good?
Seniors, please guide.
