Book that covers social problems in india

There is a book by Ram Ahuja which cover topics like ."Social problems concepts and approaches,2. poverty,3.Unemployment.4.Population explosions,5.Communalism,secularism and regionalization, 6. Backward clasees,tribes and classes" but this is a old book and data is not upto date.. more over any kindle version isnt available for this book.

Do we have any other book which cover topics mentioned above in a simplistic manner and not phd style depth? Socio guyz please pitch in.

I think internet the best resource...its a very big topic... it cannot be covered with a single book... news paper and google might help
