What is the limit of the myopia in the upsc standard examination for both technican(IPS,IRTS etc) and non-technical services. It is given that "myopia should not be greater than -6.00 D". Here the power is referred to as that of one eye or both eyes combined? I have -5D in each of the eye.
Further, there is no such requirement. Rather the requirement is as follows:
1. Myopia must be < -6.0. 2. If greater than 6.0; THEN the myopia must not due to degeneration. That is, even if your myopia is -8.0 - it doesn't matter if its not degenerative.
In any case, you are fine since you are at -5.0 only.
correct.there studnt be any pathological causes of myopia which may affect in future.no.s doesn't matters whether -1 or -8D.to play safe u can go to any Ophthalmologist like shroff(delhi),vasun etc and ask for LASIK eligibility test,which provide u very comprehensive report of ur eye,which no one can provide.remember i m nt saying abt LASIK eye surgery but just its eligibility test ie whether u r eligible for it or nt.reason- 1-its very stringent,2-provide u all type of eye parameters n detect any abnormal condition if persist,3-every knowledgable homosapiens must undergone this test every 2 year.lol
