Friends in my various intraction with Kashmiri Muslims ,the point that come across is that they do not consider India as their country and some believe that India have occupied "their land " just as British once occupied India.....

But, my contention is that Kashmiri Muslims are not original inhabitants of land of Kashmir.... Their ancestors migrated from central Asia and settled in Indian subcontinent in the land of Kashmir..... So, how can they claim entire Kashmir and India as a occupier nation.... It is they who are outsiders and now claiming separate nation

Any Kashmiri Muslim friend can also air their views.... As many people like me fail to understand that what exactly is the reason that separatist movement is so powerful in Kashmir valley....

yes while they say that their struggle is against indian occupation, they cannot hide the religious fervour in their agenda. Kashmir cannot be taken from India by force or blackmail. We need an AFSPA+

kashmiri muslims are all original inhabitants of the state.Their ancestors were all hindus who converted at various times from the reign of first shah miri king shams ud din whose forefathers had earlier converted to islam.He had usurped power form the Hindu king suhadeva.A lot of other kashmiri hindus and small minority of buddhists were forcefully converted by the notorious sikandar butshikhan who gave the natives the option to convert or die.A few others were converted by the sufi saints who flourished under secular kings like zain ul abedin.Unfortunately however when a province/nation gains islamic majority it remains fundamental and thus religion takes precedence over national values and this is what we have seen even in the modern times,the forced eviction of kashmiri pandits being a case in point .Thus the once great secular state where beautiful temples like the legendary Shiva Martanda temple stood now lies in ruins alongwith other great hindu shrines some built by the legendary lalitaditya muktapida who ruled from kashmir to parts of central asia(im pretty sure most of us haven't even heard his name!).We cannot undo the force of radical islam,sorry my friend its simply impossible to unbrainwash most of them!We can only pray for the rapid growth of science and the end of all religions by 2090 as predicted so that we don't see extremism and genocides done in the name of religion.Unfortunately Indian history is full of such events whitewashed and diluted tactfully by leftist historians!

Bro. You are mistaken if you say that their ancestors are original inhabitants of Kashmir and Indian subcontinent......

Look at their facial features...... Eagle's beak like sharp nose..... Hyper white complexion.... These are not features you will find among original inhabitants of Indian subcontinent of which land of Kashmir is part of.....

These are features of tribes of central Asia.....

yes..the reason is their geographical, historical, psychological and linguistic proximity to Pakistan. Rest of the Indian muslims have only psychological attachment wth Pakistan because of the religion. But in Kashmiris, this factor gets multiplied several time due to other factors such as geography, history and language apart from religion.

Issue is not that straight bro. .... Hardly any Kashmiri wants to be part of Pakistan..... They want separate country of Kashmir independent of both India and Pakistan......

I think lot of things are going on already in news and in country and I think this type of thread will ultimately lead to hatred and judgmental behavior with inauthentic proofs and no empathy and stereotyping.. Plz stop such practice at forum.. Nobody tries to walk in others' shoes.. They r saying temple lying in ruins but not saying anything about shankaracharya mandir which is a tourist spot and in maintained condition.. I don't want to indulge in this debate..but I would really want to request u to tell members to stop this stereotyping..we have exam in august..we should focus..

Bro please talk sense here.Im a student of history and even if u talk of features kashmiri Muslims and pandits both have similar ones due to common ancestors.And listen just because an outsider like a kanishka or babur or even the mythical Aryans came from central Asia It doesnt mean the native population of the area they invade/conquer/migrate automatically turn into the outsider's race.Infact these outsiders are simply very small in number compared to the original inhabitants even if they breed like rabbits for being regal they eventually intermingle and become part of the local populace.That is why most of the Muslims in India/pak even bdesh look more closer to Hindus than the say Arabs,same goes for Christians and other communities.Always remember invaders are extremely small in number,that is why even after Alexander lrft thousands of Greeks in n west regions of India and even after there were a few indo Greek kingdoms around 2000 years ago there is hardly anyone retaining any trace of greekness in those parts today!Hope u get my point and read a good book on invasions and their effects on human history or on the history of human migrations to understand the concept better :-D
