And in any case, close to half the seats are going away because of the reduction. That'll turn the whole thing into a lottery. The exam would get you upto a certain level but then your marks would hardly matter when it comes to your rank.
I wonder how would they distinguish between genuine candidate's response and institutional response when all it take for a private e-mail id for basis of differentiation which can be made thousands in numbers by a single user by 21 Feb?
In fact a coaching can buy a hostname and create multiple email ids in seconds automatically. Didn't expect such naive survey administration in so called 'Digital India'.
If they are really in a mood to listen candidates preferences, it should have been done by invitation basis comprising pan-India level maintaining parity among sections.
This is just a survey. No decision will ever be based on this. They will just use bits and pieces from it which suits them.

Power engg is no diiferent then others engineering which include mechanical , electrical and student can see the syllabus and make sure which branch include
tool engineering is pure manufacturing which is covered in mechanical part and student might have to study deep and there is no harm in it as many engineering student take humanities as optional which they havent studied throught their life ( Some specialized book of tool engineering like HMT is presribed in many mechanical Institution
Ceramic engineering is Combined engineering which includes polymers wit manufacturing and its similar to Mechanical with Little chemical concept in it like rheology different extrusion technic
according to ur explanation , power eng guys will suffer and elect, mech guys will enjoy.
No one will suffer as upsc provide 6 attempt which means 6 years so i dont think Mechancial or electrical is so tough that a student cannot clear in 6 attempts . I myself had mining engineering and i took mechanical and i have studied it 3 years continuously and scored good marks in it . I studied mining for 4 years and 3 years mechanical with MTECH and PHD in Mechanical
ur view should be genralist. everyone can not do phd
I m not telling everyone to do a phd as upsc doesn't include phd syllabus
there are grad sub like astrology, bds, fishing, nuclear, etc. i m still laughing.
Pehli baat fishing mein graduation koi karta hi nahi hai or BDS to kafi had tak Medical Science ka part hai or Nuclear to physics hons or mechanical dono mein padte hai
Dosto csat wapas nhi ayega, csat ko bhool jao. Aur Iss committee se koi radical changes ki ummed mat karo. Govt Upsc k pattern m koi major change karke controversy nhi karna chahti.
