Hello everyone,
I'm new here. I happen to be a beginner to civils preparations, too, though I have appeared to Prelims 2015. I've been studying mostly by myself, along with my job.
While studying I'd got this idea that I should have an app that lets me draw maps on my tablet/ phone. There were none in Play Store. Somehow, it happened that I began developing such an app. I'm no programmer and I don't know much about apps.( It is developed using an educational platform called MIT App Inventor).
This app I'm currently using for drawing maps is a simple and modest offline app. - - There are 8 preloaded semi-blank maps, you can draw on them, mark places, add labels and add notes. They can be saved to your device.
- All notes you add go to a searchable offline notebook.
- you can share the maps you made in the app to Evernote/ share them with friends.
I think there might be other aspirants who miss such an app on their devices.... I've spent nearly 3 months on the app ( it is named mapboard lite ) and now I want to go back to my studies.
So, if anyone is interested, or has downloaded it from Google Play, but face some difficulty in using it for your studies, please feel free to contact me. Your feedbacks will be most welcome.
It's like my new year gift. There are no ads in it. But, if there's anything I need to do to make it more usable to you all, please let me know.
Kindly help me to reach everyone and optimize Mapboard lite for everyone's use.. And please, I'm no marketer.
Happy learning, everyone.

Do you think India map should be a physical map, too? Or that the state-boundaries need to be thinner?
And thanx for the advice. I too think it's time to move on.
I just checked up Prelims 2015 G.S paper. 13 map based questions were asked : 3 directly based on maps, 7 related to physical geography. ( That's why once Prelims was over and I began studying from scratch, I got this idea that I ought to mark all places of importance on maps, along with my studies) Of course, a few people might say drawing maps is cumbersome, let's refer to readymade maps...But, It's not just about this app. One can take print outs of blank maps and draw on them too. But, draw they should.
Here're some maps I made while studying in the past week:
Thank you very much for being so attentive and accommodating.
Please let me know what do you think.
