This is the only reason I hate forum ias n didn't create a profile until mains was over. We could easily read topics on our own and move on to next one. But unnecessary discussion n bickering on Internet keeps us bogged down in a few topics, in the name of "that one extra point" we go for overkill. Net result-- gross wastage of time, undue point scoring leaves many demoralized, increasing tendency of becoming masters on all topics. Undue digging up of cyber space for "KNOWLEDGE" which u can't carry to the exam hall. In a nutshell u spend more time on a topic without gaining anything and sleep with a false feeling of having studied too much. 100% of this exam's requirements r in our standard text books, CA magazines n news paper. All we need is peace of mind to digest what we read n to condition ourself for d battle. There was a reason that since ancient times the learned men would run to himalayas for greater learning in peace n relative isolation. Mingle with friends but study in isolation--I.e RELATIVE ISOLATION, that's the key. That's my well thought advice. Rest, as u wish. Just don't crowd ur mind as it will crowd out ur innate knowledge. Thanks.
The answer has many dimensions, so compiling them in short:
Political: Talk of Soft state Doctrine of Scandavanian Sociologist Economist, Gunnar Myrdal => Covers institutional and implementation aspects. E.g, lack of political will to frame and implement laws + Discipline aspect.
Economic: Talk of Type of growth, pattern of growth and distribution of economic benefit. E.g, Jobless growth in India. Manufcturing sector employment: total employment constant ~ 12% since 1947. GDP Growth arising in agri is atleast twice as efficent in combating poverty & unemployment as growth orignating outside Agriculture. Growth emloyment paradox. Possible to have high poverty reduction with moderate growth also e.g, SEA Tiger Economies. And vice versa, stubborn persistance of poverty despite high growth. Finally redistribution of growth benefit, which otherwise limit market participation, reduce co hererence, causes vertical & hz conflicts. E.g, link answer with Frustration Aggression Displacement Hypothesis of J. Donnard. Link with Relative Deprivation theory.
Ethics & Corruption linkage and effects: Link with Niccolo Machivelli concept of state.
Social: Health & education issues, feudalism, patriarchy, special issues like disability, lethargy etc. Link each with development. Also may talk of Pareto Optimatlity concept.
Geographical: Expansive cohort & related issues. Excess population growth & Okun law linkage. Limit to growth model i.e, questions open ended growth assumption. Talk of 5 models i.e, env degradation, food shortage, pollution etc are limits on high growth. E.g, Green GDP Concept.
International: Rostov growth model i.e, a country in stage of high consumption tries establish hegamony. E.g, neo colonization, banana colonialism. N/S Divide. West led growth model. Global common issues like Great Game/ Great Cold rush etc etc.
Finaly, conclude with Neo Malthusian model i.e, Rostov growth model i.e, Indian still in take of stage i.e, unable to create instututional & 3 sector economic activities impulses for double digit growth.
