If you people really want to get best out of mains test series in any field, go for vision. I had a pathetic experience with mitra and Patanjali. Ps-I've written civil services and forest services, and all I said is my personal experience.
Have a doubt – if standard are to be read for all 4 parts of both papers, then should coaching notes be studied ? And if they're to be read, then which - patanjali's printed material OR Mitra's printed material ?

Well you can go for Patanjali notes. At the end, you've to formulate your own thoughts and views for second paper. In case of first paper, you just have to mug up and relate the things. So it'll be fine, if you're reading anyone's. Do read standard books, cause it'll be of great help. Also keep on doing writing practice(test series and not one question each day if you've enough time), and put specific focus on contemporary western, as it's quite confusing.
