How many days before prelims exam one should start reading the Hindu newspaper...i am going to give my first attempt in 2017
You could begin as early as possible, including today. If you do not like the Hindu, you can even begin with Times of india or Indian express. Try to develop general awareness on issues like key legislations, environmental news, International relations etcetera.
Hindu may be too boring for you, and by the time you actually write the exam, you may be too bored of it to read the Hindu.
So you could go with some lightweight newspaper as I said - IE or TOI
Also, don't read too intensively or start making notes immediately. Just try to develop a basic understanding. Don't burn out even before you write the exam. But yes, do follow it religiously and regularly.
Usually IR and editorials of ToI are easy to follow and grasp.
Once again, repeating things you need to focus on -
1) Key legislations 2) Supreme Court Orders/ Judgements 3) Happenings in other countries covered in IN page 4) Activities of DRDO, ISRO 5) Key public health issues like Ebola, H1N1, Hepatities etc related news. 6) Any environment realted news.
