[Official : Exit] How to get rid of the addiction of ForumIAS?

These days are Crucial so I can understand the addiction as all want to know cutoffs and result date but I don't think so that it would Change even after prelims result. Those who are at their last chance ( like me) as such or technically too, and unfortunately fail to cross the cutoff may be leaving it but if they qualify then it'll be hard to resist the temptation of peeping into the discussion as mostly are useful to know and knowledge gathering is a never ending process and being in this field we have become a sapiosexual personalities. I know that we are competent enough to ignore the things which are not useful but still its hard to resist many things which are certainly useful and after clearing prelims there will be no time to spend on virtual world.

So anyone with psychology optional or psychology degree who can explain the easiest way.?

Note - please don't start mockery or lead the thread into a joke factory or just ignore the thread if it donot suffice your consciousness. It'll be interred soon. Thankyou.

  • In case somebody is thinking of getting their profiles banned, let me direct you to the approved method to do it yourself -

    Last part. Blue box.

    Let this be the official thread.
  • wait for 2 more days it will become easy for you automatically.

    Strategy Part
    Work Phase wise. First make a target of not opening forum IAS for more than 5 times a day. And in each time not more than 30 minutes spent. Follow pattern for 3 days.
    Second after 3 days reduce it to 4 times a day with max 30 minutes each time. Continue for 2 days.
    Third after 5 days reduce it to 3 times a day with max 30 minutes each time. Continue for 2 days.

    Now the time you are spending is at most 1.5 hours here. That's optimal I guess. Its not addiction.

    NOTE - Every time you visit forumias make a Black Dot (big bold and dark) on your wall or some paper which u can see easily. Make sure that you are not crossing your limit by seeing that dots as a reminder. For time management set a timer in your mobile for 30 minutes every time you visit.
    Try to implement it might help. It helped me to get out of the addiction of facebook.

    I don't know despite of huge friend list on fb back then I deactivated the id. Since two years this is my first interaction with.the virtual world. I didn't visit the forum much prior to the prelims. It is just I find it useful somehow.
  • You might not needed facebook at that time so you went for a one shot solution. But here in forumias what I can guess, you need it for your preparation so deactivating is not a solution. And currently anxiety about result making the things more difficult. It will settle down surely after result.

    @Castiel :एक सीधी सी और स्पष्ट रणनीति मैं बताता हूँ यहां की लत ( अगर वो लत ही है तो ) को दूर करने के लिए --

    Comments Post करना पूरी तरह से बंद कर दीजिये . एक शांत तथा मूक दर्शक बनने का प्रयास कीजिये यहां पर....और यदि आप कभी Comments Post करें भी यहाँ पर , तो यहां होने वाले प्रत्येक घटना के प्रति तटस्थ बने रहिये ( यद्यपि ऐसा करना कुछ दुष्कर हो सकता है , लेकिन असंभव नहीं है ) ..

    यदि आपको ऐसा लगता है कि अगर आपने ForumIAS छोड़ दिया तो फिर आप कैसे सबसे संपर्क में रह पाएंगे ?? और किस तरह से सिविल सेवा परीक्षा के परिक्षेत्र में होने वाली गतिविधियों से अवगत रह पाएंगे ?? --- यदि आपको ऐसा लगता है, तो कुछ जो बहुत अच्छे मित्र हों आपके यहां पर , उनसे आप व्यक्तिगत सन्देश सुविधा ( Personal Messaging Facility ) के माध्यम से सम्पर्क में रह सकते हैं . उससे ना तो आपका ध्यान भटकेगा, ना ही आपकी एकाग्रता भंग होगी , ना आपके अध्ययन में कोई विघ्न आएगा और आप इस परीक्षा से सम्बंधित प्रत्येक सूचना और समाचार से भी परिचित रह पाएंगे .

    मैं आशा करता हूँ कि मेरे उपरोक्त सुझाव से कुछ सहायता मिली होगी आपको ......और यदि ना भी मिली हो , तो भी मेरा कार्य था आपको ये सब बताना ...मैंने बता दिया , अब आगे निर्णय आपको लेना है...

    @Castiel :

    Comments Post ना करने के पीछे का मनोविज्ञान ये है कि यदि आपने कोई Comments Post किया तो ना चाहते हुए भी एकदम स्वतः ही प्राकृतिक रूप से आपके मन में ( मन एक मनोवैज्ञानिक खंड है मानवीय शरीर का --- तार्किक मन अर्थात मस्तिष्क और भावनात्मक मन अर्थात हृदय , प्रमुख तौर पर २ भागों में बनता होता है ये -- चेतन मन और अवचेतन मन , एक और इसका भाग होता - अचेतन मन ) एक तरंग उत्पन्न होगी कि किस किसने मुझे Tag किया है ? किस किसने मेरे Comment को Quote करके मुझे प्रतिउत्तर दिया ? किसी लड़की ने मेरे Comment को Quote करके मुझे Tag किया क्या ? क्या मुझे उस लड़की से और आगे बात बढ़ाना चाहिए ? मेरे Comment को कितनों ने Thanks दिया ? उनमे से कौन कौन मेरे प्रशंसक हैं ? और कौन कौन मेरे विरोधी हैं ?और मुझे कितनों के प्रतिउत्तर पर प्रतिक्रिया देना उचित रहेगा अथवा नही ? -----ये तमान तरह की व्यर्थ की अनर्गल बातें आपके मन में आएंगी और परिणामस्वरूप आप बार बार ForumIAS देखते रहेंगे ....

    इसलिए मैंने कहा कि जहां तक संभव हो , Comments Post करना पूरी तरह से बंद कर दीजिये और अगर करें भी आप Comments Post यहाँ पर, तो यहाँ पर होने वाली घटनाओ के प्रति तटस्थ बने रहिये .....सब ठीक हो जाएगा
