1. They get the answer first and then accordingly and conveniently, form the question. This is to say that they first search out stuff, which forms their answer (as given in model hints) and then make a question out of it while ensuring that the question formed do not make them search for answers.
I will explain it with an example -
Q2 of the 1st test - “In any society, Gender is fundamentally about power". Discuss in context with the Indian Society."
This became their answer, as you can see that the model hint given is more or less copy pasted from the above article.
Now, they made a question out of it. However, while making the question they were careful not to form a question that may require extra efforts to design the model hints.
But this is not how the UPSC mains questions are, as you can see the 2014 mains paper.
2. Rigid mindset of examiner
They expect us to write more or less according to the model hints. In my paper, the examiner has written to add stuff (which they have provided in the model hints).
3. No clarity over marks distribution
Seems that while awarding marks they follow the rule - 40% for avg ans, if its a bit better award 1-2 marks more, if a bit substandard, award 1 - 2 marks less.
