Daily Discussion on Hindu Editorial

edited September 2015 in Current Affairs
Guys/Gals

I am thinking of starting a thread on The Hindu editorial. A Few things I will clarify I am right now a borderline case my prelims score is on lower side of the cut off and I stand a good chance ( 80+ % ) to actually miss mains ticket by a small margin

Even if I clear the cut off I don't stand a chance to clear mains as I like most of the folks on this forum haven't developed the required analytical and descriptive skills needed to clear mains ( whenever it happens)

I am starting a thread on hindu editorials where I would like to post discussions on the hindu editorials for discussion on a daily basis let's hope a few guys join the thread and enrich it with their knowledge

again a good start is as good as half victory

  • The team India: Vision of Modiji to Develop India is it really feasible ?

Team India a term popularly and repeatedly used by Indian PM at various stages what actually it signifies

It depicts a consolidated efforts to achieve a national development goal

sometimes it refers to members of NITI Aayog: CMs of different state and different political parties joining in for a single cause

But in a country which has multi-ethnicity and multi-culture could the goals of different sections, different region, different demography can actually converge

If I take an idealistic view then demands of different sections should converge but looking contemporary society I don't think it's going to be an easy task if not impossible

But Team India can't work together ?

If I consider India as a hypothetical closed system India as finite resources and multiple sections who have multiple Identity and multiple demands. Most of the time this multi demands are mostly competing demands

Let's take an current example Patel community is demanding OBC reservation but a few sections read OBC veteran politicians have outrightly rejected the demand again in this case there are finite quota benefits which if seen objectively are currently utilized by one section of society which isn't ready to share it with other read ( Patels )

  • The team India: Vision of Modiji to Develop India is it really feasible ?

Let's consider a different case: After FFC report which has altogether redefined the allocation between the states on a new formula interestingly it choose not to allocate any part of the fund based on criteria of special status states ( defined by previous finance commission ). Notwithstanding the report many states like Bihar, AP, Punjab are still demanding special status. If observed again states are competing for limited resources and aren't ready to accept a rational objective formula driven fund allocation

If take another case after each budget when Union FM announces establishment of new institutes ( centre of excellences ) such as IITs/IIMs/NITs/AIIMS. There is huge hue and cry from states which haven't got any allocation of these institutes.

Team India conceptually looks very strong but a difficult if not impossible value proposition
