Mains preparation thread, people from mumbai/ pune please join, others also invited

Hello guys,

2-3 days were meant to and were necessary to be spent in the cutoff prediction game. But now I think people with score more than 90 in csat should get down for mains seriously else any success in prelims would be waste. I am from Mumbai, preparing with job (working as scientist in BARC) and looking for serious study group of aspirants as I am preparing alone so need more people for group discussions as well as competition and cooperation. My optional is geography. Please join with ur introductions so dat work can be started soon.

Hi I'm Abhijit. 2012 Engineering passout. Was working in CIL, resigned in July 2015 post my selection in UPSC CSE 2014. I appeared this year again to improve my rank. I put up in Thane. Lets form a dedicated group of candidates to discuss as studying in isolation might be not that productive!

I've been allocated IA&AS with up-gradable option. I'll hopefully be upgraded to IRS (C&CE). Lets see. Lets wait for 2 more people. Then 5 of us should be game, right?

I live in kharghar, navi mumbai. I think we should start by listing wat sources do we read or plan to read for mains..Just list down every bit of resource so dat if anyone is missing out on something that can be followed. Since u hav already cleared the exam, it wil be great if u can send the comprehensive list of wat all material u followed for wat topics..

Sure! For GS P-I, I had made my own notes for History, Geog, Cult & Society.
For P-II & III: Relied on current affairs. For P-IV: Did that thin lexicon book.
Also can you share marks of your previous attempts so that we may work on each other's weaknesses by helping each other. Your experience in CSE would help us immensely!

i hav not any experience as such got thru prelims in 1st attempt but cudnt clear mains, then in m next attempt i failed in prelims only...this is third attempt and i m getting around 102, still on border...
