In the last para of what you have written, I was confused with the last statement. When All sticks are Rods then Some Sticks will also be Rods right???
I second your answer but I doubt it will solve every question of that type.
It will helpful for us if you can throw some more light on these type of exceptions.
There is a difference between the statements "Some are ..." and "All are ....".
In case of "All Sticks are Rods". - There will be no stick which is not rod.
In case of "Some sticks are Rods": - It means Some sticks are definitely not rods.
There is a method which is more systematic. It is well explained in TIMES material. I would try to share those pages in evening (after reaching home from office).
I get bitten by this mosquito doubt every now and then...i finalize it sometimes and then again it comes up.... can All things are AK_CS and Some things are AK_CS be true at same time?....i think it as Yes if Common Sense but No if strict logic terminology....will someone more logical clarify please?

You are correct to doubt the answer because the reasoning by vijay_45 is wrong. "Some sticks are Rods" DOES NOT imply that some sticks are definitely not rods. We are not allowed to make assumptions on the status of the other sticks. We only need to see if there is always a sub-set of sticks that will overlap with rods in all permutations of the venn diagram, we are not concerned if the other sticks are part of rods or rod. Since the question says that some rods are sticks then it quite obviously means that some sticks are rods.
And to answer your other query, yes All things are AK_CS and Some things are AK_CS are both true at same time, from a common sense and also logical perspective.
@ramithsethi Hi..i solve such questions by hit and trial. let's start with Mahesh. He will be either wearing the suit or has the land. You can blindly tick option for Mahesh for both the questions, if you don't have time to solve. One of the answer will definitely be true.:) Moving ahead, lets assume Mahesh is wearing the suit. so he doesnt have the land. Now go to Rajesh. His second statement will be wrong, since Mahesh is wearing the suit.(as per our assumption). So Rajesh's first statement has to be right. Now go to Ramesh. This guy's first statement will be wrong since Rajesh has the land. Second statement will be right since Mahesh is wearing the suit.
So, the answer will be Q1) Mahesh Q2) Rajesh

I don't know how to approach this question. Pls explain how to approach thse kind of reasoning problems. It ccomes under binary logic section.
Since the question says that some rods are sticks then it quite obviously means that some sticks are rods.
And to answer your other query, yes All things are AK_CS and Some things are AK_CS are both true at same time, from a common sense and also logical perspective.
