those who have been claiming a considerable drop in cut off are not really well about their assumptions bkz nobody predicted the cut off as high as 116 for unreserved last year .max people could assume was 112 that really amounts to obc cut off. though noone here is willing to accept that 116 has been a surprising cut off for everyone of us but it is .therefore just don't assume that cut off would be around 105 .it would be around 108 atleast for unreserved. though scoring high more than 130 was not easy but scoring 110 was achievable by sincere aspirants. there would be a huge concentration of aspirants within narrow range of marks & luck will definitely play it's game with all of us . no offence to anyone ,just an opinion.

last year exam ke din hi 125+ waali thread ban gayi thi, 180+ log toh 1 week mein hi the uspe. Is baar 95-105 waali thread bani thi.

and that may b the reason why people are not predicting cutoff AS LOW AS 100

Bhai i.am.not new to this field ..all these projections are based on hunch ..àapke jaise marks aayenge ,aap waise hi predict karoge cutoff.and the assumptions that scoring 110 was easy his year shows little biasedness on ur part..neither scoring 130 was essay last year& nor scoring 110 this year...!! And secondly the base effect weighs in every projections ,be it aspirant or coaching institute..and it obviously would..That's is why all projectons fail if nature of paper is drastically varied..

If a reserved catagory student surpass gen cutoff in prelim he/she is counted as gen or reserved??
He will take the seat in the unreserved aka general category
previous yr i noticed many reserved catagory student had high marks more than 110... that might hav increased the cutoff to 116... i hope they r below 100 this time...
Yaar, my friends who are always scoring 135-145 in 2015/2016 are in range 110-115 only, they prepared harder really....4/5/6 attempts.....so u can guess average student/ cutoff......
Today only I meet 2/3 faculties personally in vajiram and vision, I know them well through some good links.....they said cutoff in worst case will cross 103-104.....it may even in two digits for general category....
agar Information galat nikali to encounter kar dunga tumhara.
bhai aapne interview diya tha kya?? is liye poochrha hu kyunki mere dost jo interview diye the mere saath aur jinka final main nhi hua unki fatti hai iss baar...scores wohi 105-110 main aarhe....mujhe lgrha ki shayad humari tyaari achi nhi thi isliye ghus gye hai...lekin jo dedicatedly tyyaari kre hai for prelims shayad unke ache scores aarhe honge...im not sure...just asking...any idea about it??
Bro, I did not gave 2016 wala interview...yaar I know 2 people IPS, whose pics are also on forum...they are getting 112,114....last time unka score 139 ,135 tha...and many genuine people working very very hard are getting NOT more than 115....whomever getting just by chance only......or they are preparing for prelims only NO mains study!!!
6/7 who gave interview are in same range as u are saying 105-110....so rarely it will cross 105....
Faculty in vjiram/vision even said, when they gave their last attempt in 2007, that time upsc GS paper was one of toughest...but 2017 prelims was even more than that....so they just predicted....
Jayada Forum pe logo ke chakkar me mat pdo, same 10-15 people are posting in every 10/15 mins....so off course, you can guess more.....
thanks man!! even i feel with whatever experience i have that cut off will not cross 105 but because of last year's hangover...i feel it can reach 107 not beyond that..
See....just now I saw a comment where some one is just discussing, making things complex and talking non sense regarding cutoffs....he/she wrote ::that he/she has not even appeared for upsc prelims!!!!!! see!! The height of NON sense!!! Aise item bhut h....so inke chakkaro m mat pdo .....cutoff 104/105 se niche hi rhe ga kafi!!!!
aise hi mera ek friend hai jisne drop lia hai...based on his previous "experiences" cutoff predict krte hain, by seeing forum marks and dosto k marks... also clearias jiska yaha log poll follow krte hai, uspe sayad hi koi aajkl marks ginta hai...wo clearias waale khud hi vote daal daal k sample banate hai...
Kuch 8-10 log hi forum ki har thread ko spam kiye hue hai..apne bakwas cutoff projectons se..no one knows cutoff Kitna jayega, but high probability for it to be in 2 digits ..!! Sab padhne mai lag jao..people are sadist , maniac here...!! Woh apna bhi time pass kar rahe ho aur aaapka waste bhi...!!
Bhai wo kejirwal etc jo hai, xam hi nai diya hai bande ne...koi bhi banda chahe jitna bhi marks le aaye kisi ko mock ya demoralise nai krega..karma naam ki bhi chiz hoti hai...bas maje le ra hai as he has no stake in it. Wrna mains ki prep na krta wo
Bhai aise 8-10 hai ..har thread ko.spam karte hain...!! O am.no expert in cut off projectons ,but aapko ek feel aajata hai cut off ka based on anecdotal evidence.!!
Sir, last year kya prediction tha aapka?
Around 115..
aur is bar?
Bhai is bar thoda dicey hai...marks.of friends and peers tell me.ki 2 digits jayega ..but due to base effect of last year lagta hai ki 100/101 bhi ja sakta hai
Aur ye clear IAS MAFIA ke Jo graph LA rhe h colourful, WO fake data se 1 min m ready ho jata h.....jitna vary kro ho jata h.....kbhi 2 D kbhi 3 D graph post karte h.....all this can be easily done in MATLAB software too....log yha bass mje le rhe h nd doing time pass.......

even scoring 80 marks is not easy because options are full of contentions in most of the questions but sincere aspirants could score 110 .
