What people are not realising is that now luck will become very very imp....
What you are not realizing that UPSC made CSAT qualifying because good quality Civil Servants were not selected. Now quality will become very very important. Think about the nation not just about yourself.
what you are not realising is the fact that the civil servants selected through CSAT have hardly spent a year or two in the field, so you cant judge whether they are good or bad....similar argument was placed by an IFoS guy who equalized the sorry state of our forests with the new recruitment procedure, hardly realizing that those new guys are still in the training academy.
May be I am ignorant. What I know is I am not arrogant which I feel you might be. Anyways, I am so minuscule in the whole scheme of things that only a stupid fellow can be confident enough about his knowledge.
Rather than being confident in our own small dens (Kuen ka Medak), let us actually see what is required from a DM or an IAS officer. I feel (and I might wrong) that he requires:
1) Clarity of thought process 2) Presence of mind 3) Empathy and sense of inclusiveness 4) Leadership and sense of leading the masses 5) Purpose to change the status quo
I don't think, these things are taught in any of the discipline. These are the qualities which a person acquire through right conditioning in his life. And these qualities are difficult to test in any kind of exam. Most of the exams in India are and will remain focused to elite sections of society. Most of the UPSC succeesses will be those who can afford coaching and a few years in Delhi. And that is the reality of our system.
Rather than fighting for a small chunk of highly coveted posts, if we (youth) decide to work for India in our own right, we can actually bring in changes in society. I, for example, take classes for students who can't afford coaching in maths and science free of cost. This might be a very small step but I believe it will help a few to understand the mysteries of science.
I am least bothered about the success one might achieve in his life. What bother me is this rut to be better than other. I believe, if we change this attitude while studying and dealing with others, most of our problems will be solved.
what if all doctors and govt engineers go on strike against csat removal...that will be more scary for govt than few hundreds of protesters leap frogging on streets of delhi.
