A movement to get things done: Its barely less than a month for civil service examination notification. A notification for the examination the lakhs of aspirants eagerly wait to prove themselves, across the states, from elite to middle class to the poor. But for the last two to three years, aspirants of rural background, who did their schooling in their regional language, owing to socio economic conditions, stopped to dream of getting into civil services because of CSAT, a paper that changes your fate mere in two hours irrespective of hard work you put in and irrespective of knowledge you posses. The examination,CSE, that sought hard workers now is a place for casual applicants. The examination,CSE, that gave the scope for a rural poor candidates to realize their dreams and work for the society they are coming from now is an adda for those who could offered coaching centers that teach so called "aptitude". Irony is that UPSC that categorically wants to eliminate the presence of coaching institutes indirectly started encouraging coaching institutes. Alas! I really see this blatant injustice in the advertisements of coaching institutes. " CSAT constitutes 80 % of prelims weightage" says a coaching center openly to grab the students. " prelims is all about csat, you cant score more than hundred in gs" says another coaching center, exposing the stark reality to make students realize the importance of csat in clearing prelims which denied thousands of genuine aspirants their right to write mains to prove themselves. So when injustice is being done our bureaucracy acts like everything is perfect as csat is helping their engineer sons and english medium daughters. But the thing is that CSAT , injustice in the form of paper, is not just an issue for north indian aspirants who are givin tough hindi translation but also for rural south indians who did their education in their regional languages like telugu, tamil etc.- these guys neither understand english used by upsc nor do they know Hindi. Across the country, aspirants of these kind were mercilessly eliminated due to this CSAT. Though time and again issue has been exposed and brought to the notice of govt, govt ignored as always- we have our say, they have their way!! It was only last year due to sustained efforts of some student groups and support of sympathetic politicians issue ofcsat was discussed and called for an all party meeting. But they govt took its u-turn even after promising some changes last year itself was rude shock not just to protesters but also aspirants across the country, putting their preparation in limbo. But now time has come. Time has come to raise again. Raise against injustice, Raise for the poor. Raise for the dreams of genuine aspirants. Indignation is the first manifestation of awareness of injustice. we fought but govt cheated and suppressed. But we have enough strength to raise again and again and raise from the ashes. Its high time to bring to the notice of govt once again as parliament proceedings happen. I certainly hope govt will concede to the genuine demand we arw making if we put a little pressure . I have faith that we will surely succeed in our efforts as political mood of the country is shaping differently this time. Bihar elections are coming, govt cant offered to ignore. All political parties ready to support if we lift the movement to the higher plane. lets do it before the notification comes out. lets expose the injustice again and lets save the merit. Jai hind.

Of course we dont have... if we clearly know why would we post all this shit. We r hopeful of these changes and fight to that end. Disgusted souls? So those hopeful of changes are disgusted souls, arent' they? .... history tells one more thing... with protests you can bring the issue to the notice ... and you can push the govt to an extent of calling all party meeting on a paper. So history tell so many things... rather thank talking about this history leant indian history better... as it helps in scoring in gs. Time has come for those solely relied on csat to apply for bank jobs ☺

I feel happy if intelligence watches us. Because at least they come to know that there are people who are suffering... and there exists some issue with the paper.. and at least intelligence conveys aspirations of some people

I can't read this crap any more. I wish they totally remove csat and go back to optionals so that nobody has to say anything. It's good to fight if people feel that there is some injustice but the way they are justifying their stand is ridiculous! Issue was never of Non_English Vs English. It is of Engineers, MBAs VS rest of the candidates. Please avoid posting such information now. Hardly 20 days are left for official notification. Let the notification decide your. UPSC to kisike baap ki bhi nhi sunti!
