  • Why do I want to be an IAS officer?

1). To help the people and do my bit in the welfare of the underprivileged.
2). The power n prestige associated with the job

Wrt DK Ravi incident, it should not act as deterrent for us aspirants. Dangers are everywhere. Cooking food over LPG is also a very dangerous work.

    So, believe and keep preparing.

Honestly saying, I have raised from a extremely humble background. I just want to test myself and the system wheather I can set an example for the others.

I know, if I succeed, my motivation will trigger zeal in thousands other to work hard and make oneself valuable. Being a student of mathematics, I belive that in order to maximize the objective function ,which is my country, every independent variable, which is us, have to work hard and in tendem. And, I think, this is the best way to pull someone from the state of distress to the world of opportunity.
  • I want to actualise myself , and this service could facilitate that goal.
Life is all about evolving , joining Ias will definitely give me one more way to realise my potential and learn more along bit helping people indirectly.

Possible interview questions that might follow up of ur two points..
    (1) There are many avenues for serving underprivileged. Join any NGO, volunteer for social welfare activities like teaching in free time. Participate in CSR activities of your organization (if any). Why IAS?

    (2) What use is of power when it can't solve basic problems of those being served for years. Instead, won't it be a great service to nation if IAS is done away with? No other country gives as vast powers as India gives to IAS.

Sir, with due respect, many humble background people upon entering IAS do exact opposite of what they intended to do upon entering service. Don't you think system will make you corrupt as well. What will you do to not succumb to corruption?

Nice ideas Ma'am. While power comes with responsibility, don't you think you should continue working with NGO to serve people. What difference will you make to lives of millions of people once you become an IAS officer? Sorry for being specific, but that needs a thought. :)

Sir, don't you think your interest could well be served by a lucrative corporate job. Also, self-actualization is the ultimate aim of every human being, Can you throw light on how IAS will help you actualize your potential (I am not talking of competitive potential). Hope you won't take offence, but your answer sounds a bit self-centred, which I know you don't want to show before interview panel :)
