i hope not !! coz in case i get through i ll first like to c what did i fill in that summary sheet some 6 months ago :P (i have anyway mentally divorced my optionals amidst this pattern change speculations)
  • I am very far from Delhi, so I am not sure of what is good or how good it is. But I heard that sankalp IAS's interview preparation is pretty good (some say it is an RSS initiative).
Can anyone comment on how good or not good or bad it is ? I have plans to come to Delhi for interview preps in case I clear mains, would be great to hear from you guys.
  • @ALL

I appeared last year in interviews...from my personal experience I can clearly say that do not unnecessarily opt for all those big names offering interview classes ad mock interviews especially Vajiram and Shriram....I joined Shriram and he does nothing but useless bakar... Vajiram is the biggest mistake one can ever do... He claims to be an expert ( he might be one) but he will surely demotivate by telling ur expected interview at the end...Holy shit! What the crap??? Sankalp is very decent thought u can safely miss the classes except that by Mr. Madhukar Bhagat whose session u will certainly find interesting and useful... out of 3 panels at Sankalp 2 are good and one is crap. Another good mock interview is conducted my Padmanabhaiah Sir ( yeah that Police reforms committee u read in ARC and Pub Ad).. although the fees is high ( i guess 1000 bucks) but he will motivate u and encourage u a lot...pretty similar envt. to that faced in real!

I would recommend that the most useful thing one can do for interviews is ask ur friends to take ur mocks and grill u as much as they can..... this is really the best way to prepare.... discuss with them and get to know their point of views...read previous year interviews of toppers...they are the one who have nailed it agaian and agai and not these self proclaimed success gurus! ( u know whom am I referring to :P)

P.S. U can take my advice or throw is in garabage as crap! It depends on u friends.....By god's grace I secured 180+ marks last year but missed the final selection by few marks!

    Best Wishes to all!
  • Sorry for the spell and grammatical mistakes :)
  • @bilalkharchila thank you dear for your valuable input. i have also decided to mock interview sessions by former UPSC members. Chaitanya and other institutes as well as Chanakya provides good interview panels..with former officers. vajiram is crap though everyone takes it as a ritual..

  • lagta hai sab interview ki prep me lag gaye..... thnks Pirate bhai.... bhai logo aur bhi koi apne inputs de do zara!
  • How are classes at ALS and mocks at chaitanya and chanakya?
  • @all - revisiting this thread.

Is there a consensus if coaching/mocks for interview are of any use?

People who have given interviews in the past and attended institutes - can you provide some insight?

    Cheers.! :)
