Anybody staying in Uttam Nagar? I am planning to shift from the costly(Old Rajender Naga) to Uttam Nagar but not sure how is the area? Can anybody share their experiences on these notes? 1. Safety (security)and esp in night time 2. Food 3. Electricity, its almost 24X7 at Old Raj Nag area. 4. Parks (Morning/Eve Rejuvenation) 5. South Indian Food stalls and tea stalls.
Would be greatful for the help/views provided.
Hi, I live by near Tilak nagar metro (two stations before uttam nagar). You can find decent places here. I shifted a year ago right after my classes got over. PROS- FAR BETTER ACCOMODATION!! Well ventilated 2 rooms+kitchen+bath+balcony =7k/8k per month Quiter than ORN/Patel nagar Loads of parks around South indian joints are few but easily available, not as common as ORN Safety is good ,same as ORN i would say .But not any night joints for tea etc.Just a 24*7 outlet .
CONS- Food is bit costly here(Tiffin=70 Rs per meal for me) Not many aspirants around.Does get boring but now few friends have shifted here so okay. [Earlier, from my newspaper guy i found 8 people getting Hindu delivered,All IAS aspirants! ] Distance from hotspot of coachings.About 20 min of metro commute to Karol bagh/ORN Electricity outage is there usually in peak summer monhs for 30 min average ,atleast 10 days each month in MAY,JUNE,JULY .manageable though. Not too long
Weighing all options in, i would strongly suggest you to shift if you like to see the sun and feel the breeze in your room (unlike those dungeons of ORN/SHADIPUR) and are done with regular classes .Join a library in ORN to feel 'connected' with mainstream!
What are other preferred locations for staying apart from ORN and Patel Nagar when done with regular classes. How are Uttam Nagar, Tilak Nagar or even Dwarka in this respect.
Any suggestion in this regards (keeping UPSC preparation and related requirements like peaceful environment, metro accessibility etc) will be highly appreciated.
