Rajatsen. Great analysis. But 568 sounds quite low. Isn't the so called insider information projecting amino cutoff at 600. Rest of the part I am in agreement with.

My calculation on mains:
In 2012: Mains cut off stood at 700/2000
Going by same ratio this year it stands at 612.5.
Another 10-12 marks adjusted for extra 400 students called for interview,
Now, last year for students who qualified, their score in favorite optional was around 40% of 600. I am considering that most of the students would have taken same optional this year. So adjusting 40% of 600 to 40% of 500 and adding 25 marks that have already been adjusted above. 40-25 = 15
Similarily, weight age of GS has doubled which generally is poor in scores compared to the optionals. So quite possible that 20-25 marks swing would have been there.
Thus 612.5 - 10/12 - 15 - 20/25 =~ 560-570
Thus, figure of 560-570 as mains cut off has not surprised me.

It could be. But my idea is that all these figures can be proportionately increased by 30-50 marks if the above the cut-off is 600 instead of 568. Point is IAS cutoff will be 280-300 marks above mains cut off and final cut off will be 210-220 above mains cut off.
