She was in no mood to take me( read: award me good marks ) ! Stress interview ! She commented that I seem to be a restive person and when I politely asked for reason she said I changed two jobs in 10 yrs !! She followed up saying what is the guarantee I will stick with civil services ! Then she asked about my high salary and sudden interest in civil services !
She was dismissive of all answers I gave and all of a sudden said "ok ! Thanks !" And that's how my interview ended !
I was never rude nor entered into any argument with her !
Since that day I am kinda worried and concerned that she will award me poor marks , even 2 digits !
How did you handle the situation? Not answering back is a bit different from being cool and calm in the situation. If you were so, then good marks is assured. Stress interviews are good. As you can know whether you get good marks for sure! \m/
Most of the other interviews were profile based, cordial. The final mark cannot be judged now for them.
Dont worry about the given stress @mango_dolly .Currently one working in T.N cadre IAS had experience the very same .. They kept pulling his legs , negated almost every single answer he gave .. Finally he got 210 out of 300 in interview . Oh !! Boy , I wish I could experience a pandemonium during interview ..
My interview was very much opinion based and cordial.I think I was cool and answered on moral lines,it was David sir board and except a few points members were either sweet or neutral.so should I be be convinced that I will get either average or below
@neomini: what I meant was that cool and calm in stress interview is a plus point. It doesn't mean non-stress interviews are bad! It is just that before results you cannot really comment on how well you have impressed the board.
Hee. One of my friends, Purushottam Agarwal board, 2011. Stress interview. Kept calm with a smile on his face. Spoke moderately, respectfully, politely but confidently. Also, didn't bluff anywhere. Still, packed off with 120.

One of the panel member commented on three "permanent" written on my work ex block in DAF !
He said and I quote " you seem to be in habit of resigning all permanent posts you have got in past. So what will you say in your defence about stability that you can provide in govt. job and why should we trust you this time?"
I explained to him that though there are 3 "permanent" written on my DAF , I am still with the 3rd company for last 7 yrs now ! I also explained that the first company I left after 3 yrs to pursue MBA and second job because I was not enjoying my job !
I said the panel should trust me because I am taking a hit on my compensation(almost 1/15th) and the fact that my life will not be easy and my last post might be JS ! I have given much thought, discussion with family and friends and it's not a haste decision !
