20th Livestock Census As per 20th livestock census 2019 the total livestock population in Rajasthan are 56.8 million. There is a decline of 1.66% from the previous 19th livestock census of 2012. As per 19th census the livestock population in Rajasthan was 57.7 million. Rajasthan comes second after U.P. in livestock population Total livestock population in India is 537.78 million First livestock census was conducted in 1919-20 Livestock census (which include Cattle, buffalo, Sheep, Goat, Horse & Ponies, Mules, Donkeys, Camel, Pig) and Poultry in the State is conducted by the Revenue Board, Ajmer. Animal Husbandry is a major economic activity of the rural peoples, especially in the arid and semi-arid regions of the Rajasthan.
