  • @ L_Étranger : I think you have no idea how powerful is UPSC as an organisation is , for that matter any other government organization. Every government employee has to take an oath of secrecy or at least an oath to abide by the constitution. Though I must agree that before UPSC sues anyone from this forum , it would definitely suspend its own officer and start an enquiry.

As i have already said , this is highly confidential information and somehow it is really difficult to digest that such precise information is coming out from UPSC , which is known for its secretive nature and its opaque processes.

I have to completely disagree with you that UPSC can't sue people like that for the following reasons.
    1. The kind of information that is coming out is not definitely covered under RTI ( At this point of stage),must be under officials secret act. Hence people can be sued. [ Given that info is correct]
    2. Spreading rumors , creating panic , tarnishing image of UPSC , questioning the integrity of UPSC officials. [ Thanks to the IT ACT]
    3. And in case candidature gets cancelled , the affected party can definitely move to the court and I must tell you that UPSC is really adamant on decisions it takes.

    Been there Done that.

PS: All those who are spreading rumors for the sake of entertainment can definitely not make it to the final list. Common we need serious people to run this country.

@daafliwala : Bhai it is not expected from an IPS to spread information like this on public forum.

    Thanks!!!
This is extraordinarily pointless, but I'll still go ahead with this post.

@vikky_baba : You have no idea how much of an idea I have of how powerful AND ACCOUNTABLE government organizations and commissions such as the UPSC are, and I can tell you that there is absolutely no way that UPSC can sue anyone here for doubting the credibility of information that seems to be leaking out of its own doors, or believing in it. The only people who can get in trouble are those who are volunteering to share such 'insider' information, and if they are correct, and they are employed at UPSC or any other government job, then only those individuals run the risk of losing their jobs. As you may have gauged by my many many posts on this forum, I am supremely skeptical of insiders and I dont approve of them either. But in a democratic country, it is important to stand up to people's right to freedom of expression. Since no one here is hurling abuses at each other, all this is boiling down to some weird sort of moral policing or bizarre posturing on hurt egos. If an alleged insider is sharing information knowing the risks he is taking, thats his choice. And most people on this forum are only questioning that information- which is not illegal by any law in this country. correct me if I am wrong.

As for questioning the integrity of an institution- we all have that right to question the integrity of any institution in a democratic polity; otherwise we wouldnt dare speak the name of 'corruption' in this country. And finally, as for suing- sue whom for what? sue members of this community who are not UPSC employees who are question such insider information? huh!?

Just to reiterate and make my position clear, I am not in favour of 'insider' information being shared at all, whether it is correct or incorrect. But I also believe that its wrong for some members on this forum to appoint themselves as 'big brother' and direct people what to say or what not to say. This forum is moderated, and I have full faith in the moderators to intervene if it comes to that.
