@Chashmebaddoor according to u is there a hope of revising result..or any benefit..
In my experience and knowledge a proactive judge would expedite the matter and may give an interim judgment to stay the result or might take it up expeditiously...the fact that they dismissed the pil on a technical error and converted into a case in a supreme court means that they probably thought it was worth giving her a patient ear...again this is just my conjecture I could be wrong also...coz otherwise the court would be least bothered and would have taken pride in simply dismissing the pil...which they dint...n I know upsc is rattled by it...coz they released the result in such haste...this act of theirs is another "flaming gun"!!!

things have changed as in the remedies i sought were mostly pre result in nature, i ll have to think about post result stuff, plus come out with something that is administratively possible for the commission given the time and resources. else the courts will not grant it. the courts always look for a simple soln that needs least resources n efforts. I agree with you completely...any remedy you ask has to be in light of fairness...increase in intake is the easiest possible remedy agreed but it's still not fair ...plus how do you calculate as to how much should the intake be increased with..and whether that increase is fair or not... reevaluation in my opinion is though a tedious task for upsc but it's fair in all respects...plus it's high time upsc is bought down from it's pedestral... reevaluation is possible and has happened in many competitive examinations..it's just that upsc has never done it and has not been magnanimous accept it's mistake it's my suggestion to make your pleadings in light of fairness and transparency..while being very clear of what you specifically expect out of them... The gift of gab is all what we have!!

I know that TSPSC(Telangana) has a very good mechanism by releasing keys and ask for changed in key along with legitimate proofs which can be iploaded on its site in case of greivances

The ambiguous question paper affected everyone. Can we instead ask for a compensatory attempt instead of increase in intake? Increase in intake means that the result has to be revised. UPSC will resist with full force for such moves. However compensatory attempt for those who attempted this year can be directed to DoPT by the judges and they may not reasons to resist it.
In the best case scenario of every accusation against UPSC being proven, UPSC will still say they will ensure they will improve the standards etc but will not agree for revising the result to increase the intake. And their lawyers are good enough to ensure they are not affected.

@Chashmebaddoor u seem to be having some legal understanding. do suggest a remedy. coz things have changed after the result.
i personally feel that if they happen to increase the intake, those admitted will not be in a position to compete after having lost so much of time. an attempt looks like the most appropriate thing to me.
Like I said...in my opinion...increasing intake will not be a practical option for upsc in terms of logistics and also that increasing intake is not really leading to any future benefit...plus as pointed out rightly it will be a disadvantage to those who get selected becoz of increase in intake... You should state in no uncertain terms that..suppose there are 10 incorrect questions...these incorrect questions be dropped...and a re evaluation be done...the upsc may choose to extend the date of mains or not it's upto them coz if a reevaluation is directed all candidates will be rendered at the same position as we were before 27th July (ie in the hope of clearing while managing to study for mains) and if they declare the reevaluated result by August end no candidate would be at an advantage or disadvantage than the other even if upsc chooses to keep the same date of mains as is given now that is October 28th...coz all candidates would have got two months of proper study. While you ask for reevaluation...you should also ask to release the upsc answer key immediately now and in future immediately after the conduct of the exam...this as I told you Is done by various state pscs...this will increase transparency and upsc will be cautious of framing subjective questions in an objective paper... The problem is with the questions not how many people they select...that's why increase in intake is very restricted solution.. Also...the last thing we want is that the judges start giving a judgement on the correct answer in this year's questions paper...you just want it to be established that 1)the questions were subjective in an objective paper 2) two answers are possible for a question depending on what perspective they are asked from Hence the questions are incorrect and should be dropped The examination process should get relatively fairer
Why do you say things have changed after result??..you mean for your benefit or otherwise?..you have seemed to have garnered a lot of support after the result...the result has given you a flaming gun...make use of it..you have taken a bold step...there will be naysayers ....but it shouldn't make you second guess yourself if by chance you are...
with due respect... the subject matter of PIL is changing towards reevaluation is not that hard to fathom ... but not everyone clearing prelims is a moron or a tukkabaz ... as being pointed out by many SERIOUS aspirants... people really work hard to clear every stage.. there was a criteria set by upsc to judge aspirants and 13500 approx have cleared it... dont put their life and career at stake for no rhyme and reason... otherwise everyone wud be forced to come out in open and fight for their justified right.... transparency is always welcomed but opportunism in the garb of grievance redressal shuold be abhored.
Noone is doubting the intelligence or hard work of the selected candidates...noone said that they cleared it becoz of fluke...it's not against the candidates...it's against the institution..it's not only for this time it's for future transparency...if an institution is setting an objective paper once a year...for a coveted post..the questions better be objective for which there is one and only one answer from all perspectives...this time many questions were ambigous varying in their answers from different standpoint... We don't question subjectivity in the mains paper do we..?? Becoz its a subjective paper ...we understand that different examiners can vary in their opinions...but having difference of opinion in an objective paper is a fault that cannot be attributed to the non selected candidates... With all due respect the performance of all the selected candidates is lauded..!!! And yes in law the plea changes according to change in circumstances...she had asked for a stay on result..now she will have to ask for reevaluation...it's the only logical corollary!!
Also, I think we should also go into the honourable Justice's earlier judgments on issues of violation of rights. Some of us may not be terribly enthused...
I think in this situation an extra attempt is very logical, but we need a high profile lawyer to help us out. If someone has contacts with the likes of Salve, etc. a crowd funding campaign could be started immediately. There are thousands who would contribute and even if we lose, at least UPSC shall have had its dirty linen washed in public and shall then be wary of being so careless again in 2018(hopefully!)
Or else, the SC won't care. They won't go against the UPSC unless they see a credible high profile lawyer pleading.
