Even law students use dd basu as a reference book only just to understand doctrine of eclipse, doctrine of waiver etc. I mean who reads such a complex Bengali intellectual.
Where is doctrine of eclipse and waiver in DD basu which book are you taking about? You might be getting confused his other books! His intro to constitution is very nice book, it's not about Indian Polity (that is covered in Laxmikant) rather about constitutional provisions. So why to expect ki isme parliamentary committees and various statutory bodies et al. cover hoga?
I have never read any other book for Polity part except may be Our Parliament by Kashyap.
I agree it is a bit difficult to start with, but once one gets its style it is the best book to get introduced with constitution. Now a days, many abstract questions are being asked so it has its own importance too.
