Some Centres don't allow it. At my Centre near the Supreme Court no one was allowed and I had to abide by them. I alongwith many others raised objection but to no avail. But it was Prelims, I dnt know if some random Centres do it in Mains also.

agree.... at Lucknow mains centre, they dont allow it neither in UPSC or state exam UP PCS. When they did not aloow in UPPCS, i was thinking when the chairman is such a corrupt person, why such measures? soon the judge removed the chiarman but in UPSC IAS Mains they don't allow it. they say desks are smooth so do not bring. You can confirm from anyone from lucknow centre..
