Oh my dear goodness no! Don't do it. They'll debar you for life and drag you to court for defamation! Never complain about the smoothness of their benches! It's an unpardonable sin for upsc! My friend was actually dragged out of the examination hall by the invigilators by his collar and handed over to the police. They got him released on a personal bond of 10 lakh. He's still going to court over it. It's been 7 years. Don't do it!
so no invigilator can raise any objections for that
In UPSC clipboard, wrist watch, pencil-box, shoes, belts etc. are totally allowed... no invigilator will raise any objections... These items r banned only in some state PSCs. eg. MPPSC
Last year, a candidate even brought mobile in exam in UPSC hall in Delhi. And it actually rang out loud during the last paper!! A big laugh during the paper That's how we know of it.
@DepartedMisanthrope your friend is lucky that he is still alive after such heinous crime; in UPSC center they have shoot at sight orders & survivors by chance if any, are hanged till death along with their nearest kin.

Bhai woh kahani to bola hi nahi take log zyada na dar jaeyin. My friend was among the 30 odd who were handed to the police. The invigilators came with Bazookas and blew up 5 aspirants who had forgotten to throw out their bus tickets and had technically carried written material into the examination hall. The guy who forgot to leave his mobile outside was handed a pistol to either shoot himself or have his entire family shot. One fellow was caught writing after the final bell. They took him to Delhi and hanged him by his innards from the Quutub minar.
